About The Role

As Spree's Business Development Lead, you will drive ecosystem expansion by partnering with Web3 projects seeking turnkey rewards infrastructure solutions. You'll be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing deals with blockchain projects, DeFi protocols, and token communities who want to offer real-world utility and rewards to their users without building merchant networks from scratch.

Your Impact

  • Sell "Rewards Infrastructure in a Box": Target Web3 projects seeking instant access to 2M+ merchants through our SDK, eliminating their incentive cold start problem and providing immediate utility for their tokens
  • Drive Partnership Pipeline: Identify high-value blockchain projects, DeFi protocols, and token communities that can benefit from white-labeled Spree Points infrastructure and Bookit.com deployments
  • Execute Strategic Deals: Negotiate and close partnerships ranging from simple SDK integrations to full white-label marketplace deployments with branded stablecoins (e.g., TOKEN-SP)
  • Accelerate Key Metrics: Drive measurable growth in SP Total Value Locked (TVL) and SP Spend Volume by onboarding projects that bring new liquidity and users to the ecosystem
  • Design Partnership Models: Structure revenue-sharing agreements, automated token buyback programs, and co-marketing initiatives that create win-win scenarios for partners
  • Bridge Web2 & Web3: Educate traditional loyalty programs and enterprises on how Spree's DeFi-infused rewards can enhance their existing offerings
  • Manage Full Sales Cycle: Own the entire process from lead generation and product demonstrations to contract negotiation and post-partnership support
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with product, engineering, and marketing teams to develop compelling joint go-to-market strategies and ensure seamless technical integrations
  • Track & Optimize: Monitor partnership performance, analyze ecosystem growth metrics, and continuously iterate on BD strategies for maximum adoption

This role is remote first with immediate start. There is a preference for NYC-based candidates to enable occasional colocation with the team.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment to achieve ambitious goal
  • 2-3 years of experience in Strategy Consulting at a top-tier firm, with demonstrated ability in abstract thinking, analysis, and execution
  • Self-directed, decisive, and results-oriented with ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and take ownership of ambitious growth targets
  • 3-4+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales with at least 1+ years specifically in Web3/DeFi ecosystem, with proven track record of closing deals and driving TVL growth
  • Understanding of Web3 infrastructure and DeFi protocols, including smart contracts, tokenomics, stablecoins, and yield-generating mechanisms
  • Experience with SDK/API business models and developer-focused go-to-market strategies, preferably in blockchain infrastructure or protocol development
  • Excellent networking and relationship management skills with established connections in the Web3 ecosystem, particularly with DeFi protocols, token projects, and blockchain development teams
  • Analytical, Data-driven approach to finding BD targets, measuring partnership success, and the ability to analyze TVL growth, spend volume, and other ecosystem metrics
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with experience creating compelling value propositions and partnership proposals for technical and business audiences
  • Technical understanding with ability to navigate technical discussions with engineering teams while translating complex blockchain concepts for business stakeholders
