A quick run-down of the job

We are looking for a mid-level Smart Contract Engineer with a focus on EVM networks to join our API Expansion Team. This team is responsible for expanding our footprint by integrating new chains/ecosystems, new bridges and new functionalities. You will be writing new and adapting existing smart contracts, making sure they are peer-reviewed and audited and eventually deployed to some or all of our supported chains. Since we support 60+ EVM networks (and counting), such many-chain deployments bring their very own challenges that you help us to solve and automate as much as possible by creating smart scripts and by constantly improving our internal processes. Your security-first mindset and strong attention to detail will contribute to keeping us safe at all times.

In this role you will be reporting directly to the Engineering Manager of the API Expansion Team.

Our tech stack: Solidity, Yul/Assembly, Foundry, Typescript, Bash

🌍 Location

This role requires you to be located in EMEA or APAC region. Your application will not be considered if you are not located in these regions.

What you'll do

  • Contribute to development and configuration of our 1200+ production smart contracts, ensuring security and optimal (gas) performance

  • Collaborate with external auditors, resolve audit findings and file audit reports to ensure full audit traceability of our codebase

  • Create and improve scripts (typescript and bash) that help us to get our work done most efficiently

  • Deploy staging and production contracts to many chains simultaneously, ensuring contracts are verified

  • Create, review and sign multisig proposals in production environment

  • Maintain and improve our CI/CD pipeline on Github

  • Review and respond to bug bounty submissions

  • Write demo scripts that showcase how our contracts function and have to be interacted with

  • Help our customer support team to analyze failing transactions and provide easy-to-digest explanations for our partners and clients

  • Take an active role in our smart contract chapter (e.g. with knowledge sharing presentations)

  • Bring your own ideas and help us to grow every single day

What makes a good candidate

  • At least 5 years of software development experience with a focus on Solidity (at least 3, ideally 5 years) and solid experience in TypeScript (at least 3 years)

  • Proficiency in YUL/Assembly and experience deploying smart contracts to multiple EVM networks

  • Meticulous and quality-driven, you ensure high-quality outputs in all aspects of your work

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction within a cross-cultural team and with external stakeholders

  • Experience working with/for a major DeFi protocol, especially a bridge or cross-chain protocol is a plus

  • Contributions to Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) or other public blockchain initiatives are a plus

  • A degree in computer science or a related field is a plus

Company culture

  • Embracing the differences

    • Embrace your own differences

    • Respect and welcome the unique qualities of others

    • See others’ differences as an opportunity to grow

  • Own it, do it

    • Own tasks end-to-end

    • Hold yourself to a high bar for execution

    • Make bold decisions, and be accountable

    • Understand your limitations and seek for help

  • Fail forward

    • Try - don’t be afraid to fail

    • Learn - don’t make the same mistake twice

    • Adapt - grow with the experience

  • Have fun together

    • Take the time to get to know and understand each other better

    • Don’t take yourself too seriously and keep it light-hearted

    • Fun should be coming from a place of love and respect

What you’ll get

  • Annual team offsites (Thailand in 2023 and Vietnam in 2024 were a blast, Marrakech in March 2025 was blast-ier; let’s see what happens in 2026!)

  • 30 days of PTO

How do I get a job at DeFi?

Getting a job in the DeFi (decentralized finance) industry can be a competitive process, but there are a few steps you can take to increase your chances of finding a job in this field:

  1. Build up your skills and knowledge: To work in DeFi, you'll likely need to have a strong understanding of blockchain technology, as well as other related technologies such as smart contracts and cryptocurrency. Consider taking online courses or earning a degree in a relevant field to build up your skills and knowledge.
  2. Network with industry professionals: Attend meetups and conferences related to DeFi and make connections with professionals in the industry. Networking can be a valuable way to learn about job openings and get your foot in the door at a DeFi company.
  3. Create a strong online presence: Many DeFi companies will look at your online presence (such as your LinkedIn profile and personal website) when considering you for a job. Make sure to showcase your skills and accomplishments online and keep your profile up to date.
  4. Apply for relevant job openings: Keep an eye out for job openings at DeFi companies and apply for positions that align with your skills and experience. Apply for DeFi Jobs without Experience. Tailor your resume and cover letter to the specific job you're applying for and highlight any relevant experience or skills you have.
  5. Consider internships or volunteer work: DeFi Internships or volunteer work can be a great way to get your foot in the door and gain valuable experience in the DeFi industry. Many companies also offer internships to students, so consider applying for an internship if you're still in school.
  6. Be persistent: keep trying if you don't get a job right away. It can take time to find the right opportunity, but with the right skills and determination, you can land a job in the DeFi industry.
