Who We Are:

Solana is a high performance blockchain that can enable growing decentralized applications and systems to scale without sacrificing security. Solana Labs is the team that built the original protocol, and is building both the validator client and applications on top of the Solana blockchain; therefore the team is highly specialized, and is looking for talented people who are willing to jump in and use their expertise to help build the Solana ecosystem. If you’re looking to join a fast-paced, problem solving environment in the center of blockchain infrastructure, cryptocurrency, and decentralized applications, then read on.

What You'll Do:

As the Solana ecosystem matures, the Solana Labs core engineering team continues to work on critical infrastructure projects, and the team needs a Developer Relations Lead to help it deliver. For our company and product to succeed, Solana Labs is hiring a Developer Relations Lead to help communicate changes to the community, garner feedback from key stakeholders, and participate in governance and other cross client discussions with others building their own Solana clients. You will help coordinate the continued improvement of the Solana Labs client to ensure that a process for the network to adopt new changes to the protocol or closely associated tooling is robust and efficient, and upgrade and launch of various programs (including Token 2022).

Responsibilities:

  • Attend and speak at technical events around the globe including meetups, hackathons, and conferences
  • Engage, grow, and prove technical support to our community of validators and developers via various social channels (e.g. GitHub, Discord, Twitter, Reddit, Telegram, Stack Overflow, and more)
  • Own and oversee technical documentation including docs, blog posts, tutorials, videos, etc. to address knowledge gaps and accelerate partners’ understanding and collaboration around the Solana ecosystem
  • Communicate critical software changes and their impact to key stakeholders
  • Keep pace with understanding the rapidly innovating Solana ecosystem and translate that information to connect projects with potentially mutually beneficial partners
  • Work closely with the Solana Labs core engineering team to understand their priorities and focuses, and share information with the Solana ecosystem

Requirements:

  1. Proven track record in Developer Relations in a fast paced tech environment or similar role
  2. Scrappy, low ego, self motivated, looking to dive right in
  3. Previous experience developing and leading workshops, presentations, community talks, and engaging the validator and developer communities
  4. Knowledge of and passion for the Solana and Web3 ecosystem
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (especially technical writing)
  6. Familiarity with Rust preferred

The salary range for US-based candidates will be determined throughout the interview process depending on experience, skill, and location. Candidates should anticipate an annual base salary (not including incentive compensation or other benefits) of $140,000 USD - $225,000 USD.
