Concept Art House

This job is closed

We believe that the intersection of gaming and NFTs present an immense opportunity and are looking for people who share the same belief.

Our development team is looking for a strong DevOps engineer to support both Web2 and Web3 products. This person will be responsible for designing and implementing the various product development environments, continuous integration/deployment systems, testing environments, production environments, and overall cloud application strategy. The candidate must be comfortable leading other team members as we scale. The ideal candidate is strong technically, has led teams in the past, has helped ship and maintain web2 and web3 apps, and has a passion for games and NFTs.

Task & Responsibilities

Development:

  • We have various internal and external projects in which you’ll play a lead DevOps role. Being fluent with both web2 and web3 development is a must.
  • Defining and implementing a modern DevOps strategy will be paramount to ensuring product quality. Continuous integration and deployment? Production release processes? You’ll have to be able to identify the best of - breed tools and processes and implement them.
  • Some of our applications will require LiveOps. That should be familiar to you and you should understand what that entails from a DevOps perspective.
  • We want to be blockchain agnostic as an organization. Being able to manage infrastructure across multiple blockchains will be a key to our success.
  • We want to be able to move quickly with good safety nets. You will own the high availability and fault tolerance aspects of all of our products.
  • Humans are error prone. Automation will need to be established at multiple levels and you’ll have to understand which tools to utilize.
  • We have multiple in-house and external organizations with which you’ll be in partnership. Being able to collaborate with different groups (product, creative, other engineering teams) is key to success.

Leadership:

  • Being a core pillar to the engineering organization, you’ll need to be able to play a role in hiring, potentially lead multiple team members, collaborate with peer leads, and manage expectations upwards.
  • Your thought leadership on DevOps best practices, software, and tools will help keep the team up to speed and current.

Qualifications

  • A degree holder in Computer Science, a related discipline, or experience to offset this.
  • 5+ years professional DevOps experience, ideally in games & entertainment vertical.
  • 4+ years of web2 DevOps experience
  • 1+ years of web3 DevOps experience
  • Having publicly-viewable applications and being able to step through your DevOps implementation considerations will be required.
  • Participation in the general web3 ecosystem is important. Do you own any NFTs or coins?
  • Total understanding of blockchain infrastructure management (nodes, etc.)
  • Experience as a technical leader where you were responsible for the performance of a team.
  • Mastery of Amazon’s or Google’s cloud platform is a must.
  • Adept at scripting with either JavaScript/Typescript or Python will be extremely useful.
  • Mastery with tools and processes around version control, continuous integration servers, configuration management, deployment automation, containers, infrastructure orchestration, monitoring and analytics, testing and cloud quality tools, and network protocols.
  • Experience working with technical artists and 3d artists and the creative pipeline in general.
  • Experience with agile project management processes
  • Experienced and comfortable with remote team dynamics, process, and tools (Slack, Zoom, etc.)

What does a DevOps in web3 do?

DevOps in web3 typically refers to the practice of using DevOps techniques to develop and manage decentralized applications (dApps) on blockchain platforms

This can involve tasks such as setting up and maintaining the infrastructure for a dApp, automating the deployment of dApps, and monitoring the performance and security of dApps

In general, DevOps in web3 aims to improve the collaboration and communication between development and operations teams, and to make it easier to build, test, and deploy dApps on the decentralized web.
