THE ROLE:

As an Infrastructure Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in helping to advance Ripple's production infrastructure and release pipelines. Platform Engineers at Ripple are a hybrid of systems and software engineers who support the design and lifecycle of our hosted products. We are responsible for providing global and highly available infrastructure that enables Ripple to be a global leader in cross-border payments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Work with your mentor, and overall Infrastructure Platform team to build tools, drive automation, streamline observability backends and instrumentation for reducing operational friction and increasing engineering efficiency.
  • Architect, deploy, and maintain Ripple’s multi-region, multi-provider service platforms (with an emphasis on security and resiliency)
  • Create solutions for unique technical challenges faced by Ripple involving PKI, secret management, geographic failover, data replication, availability, and platform resiliency
  • Participate in the leadership of DevOps-first principles within the organization
  • Research promising new tools and technologies, push the team to experiment and evolve

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience in at least one programming language like Python, Java or Golang
  • Excellent debugging, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.
  • Foundational knowledge of DevOps tools and processes like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Git, CI/CD, Infrastructure or Cloud (hands on experience is a plus).
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or PHd program, preferably in a computer science or related field.
  • Coursework / previous intern experience with Observability tools such as Grafana, Kibana, DataDog or similar.

How do I start a Web3 career?

If you're interested in starting a career in Web3, here are a few steps you can take:

  1. First, it's important to gain a solid understanding of the underlying technologies that make up the Web3 ecosystem, such as blockchain, cryptography, and decentralized networks. You can do this by reading books and articles, taking online courses, or attending workshops and conferences.
  2. Next, you'll want to build a portfolio of projects that showcase your skills and knowledge. This can include creating dApps (decentralized applications) using blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, contributing to open-source projects, or writing articles and tutorials on Web3-related topics.
  3. Networking is also an important part of any career, and the Web3 space is no exception. Attend meetups and conferences, join online communities, and make connections with other professionals in the field. This can help you learn from others, share your own expertise, and potentially find job opportunities.
  4. Finally, consider getting certified in Web3 technologies. There are several organizations that offer certification programs, which can help demonstrate your proficiency and set you apart from other candidates in the job market.
