Role of Infrastructure Solutions Architect
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Solutions Architect with expertise in AWS and Azure to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions while optimizing security and networking configurations that meet the needs of client organizations. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud and OnPrem technologies, architecture design principles, cloud security principles, networking protocols, and best practices.
The Infra Solutions Architect will collaborate closely with internal Product Engineering, Professional Services Engineering, and security teams to streamline processes and optimize our software delivery lifecycle. The Architect will work with Client IT Teams / Architects to analyse their environments, assess customer Infrastructure / DevOps tools and frameworks, define potential Architectures, and recommend Best Practices.
Your mission as a Infra Solutions Architect is to help our customers design highly scalable architectures and build resilient infrastructure using distributed systems. With commercial experience on cloud billing best practices and a strong understanding of infrastructure as code, you will have the opportunity to expand our containerization story using Docker and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements. Understand customer requirements and provide guidance on Infra deployment strategies. Build new scripts based on customer requirements whilst leverage R3’s deployment templates. Help our customers with scalability, disaster recovery and maintainability of their solutions.
- Design, architect, deploy and manage cloud infrastructure solutions based on business requirements, industry best practices, on AWS /Azure and / Or OnPrem platforms with a strong focus on security controls and configurations. Evaluate existing systems and make recommendations for enhancing security posture and optimizing networking configurations.
- Develop and maintain documentation for architecture, processes, and configuration procedures.
- Recommend automation strategies to streamline platform / application deployment and management processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health and performance. Troubleshoot AND Resolve issues across the entire stack, from infrastructure to application code, Incl. build failures, deployment errors, and infrastructure problems in a timely manner.
- Deliver deployment strategy workshops with R3 customers to understand their bespoke infrastructure / application hosting requirements, platforms and tools.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in cloud computing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement in our DevOps practices. Recommend new tools and methodologies to enhance our processes.
- Ensure all assigned work items are fully managed, taking accountability for delivery, scope, ensuring successful implementation.
Key Skills Required for the Role:
- Proven experience as a Cloud Architect, with a focus on Infra Solutions and a minimum of 12 years of experience Architecting and Designing enterprise grade scaled solutions.
- Strong Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing deployment with AKS / EKS / GKE is highly desirable.
- Experience with network security appliances and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Familiarity with cloud-native security tools and services (e.g. KeyVault / Secret Manager, AWS / Azure HSM, WAF, Bastion, Cloudflare, etc.). Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements related to cloud security and networking for Banks and Financial Services is a big plus.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible and Helm charts automation with a focus on designing and implementing scalable infrastructure is a big plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyse complex systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Relevant certifications AWS Certified Cloud Architect, Azure Certified Cloud Architect (AZ303/AZ304/AZ305) Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, etc. will be a big plus.
Desired Skills:
- Kubernetes experience in a commercial enterprise product and thorough understanding of taking software to production
- Understanding of DLT / Blockchain technologies and benefits.
- Willingness to learn new skill and be able to solve complex problems.
