We believe the open-source Diem technology we have developed is an important foundation of a safe and scalable web3 world where everyone has more equitable opportunities to grow and access financial assets with lower fees and fewer intermediaries.   Aptos (Ohlone for "The People") encompasses our mission and ethos for why we build.About The Role As a part of the Platform team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining software platforms and tools to support our engineers and our ecosystem. Our team is small and we enable others to self-serve everything from cloud infrastructure using Pulumi, Helm and Terraform to Github Actions, or our internal ecosystem platforms like the API Gateway. It is our mission to provide reliable, scalable infrastructure to enable our teams and the ecosystem. Performance and reliability are critical, we are bastions of responsible development. We also embed with other teams and support reliability and performance based on need and interest. Relevant industry experience is important (Software Engineer, Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Production Engineer, or similar role), but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and passion.  This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about building platforms for others and supporting a world class engineering team and our external engineering community. You will be working on fast-paced, rapidly growing, high-profile projects with a significant opportunity for industry-level impact on emerging blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies. What you'll be doing:

Designing, building and maintaining platforms such as CI, Release, Cloud Infrastructure using primarily Typescript, Python, and Rust Writing and reviewing code, developing documentation and disaster recovery plans, and debugging the hardest problems, live, on Aptos blockchain tech stacks. Designing, developing, productionizing, and deploying new systems that enhance throughput, latency, reliability, availability, and security for the blockchain and the blockchain ecosystem services. Together with our engineering team, you will share an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidents.

What we're looking for:

2+ years experience in backend software development Experience with at least one of the following (Python, Typescript, C++, PHP, Rust) Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly and simply Passionate about developer experience and making platforms seamless for internal and external customers Experience with at least several of the following cloud technologies: Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud environment Demonstrate excellence under pressureThe base salary range for this full-time position is $160k - $260k. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and typical maximum target for new hire salaries for the position of a candidate based in the Bay Area at any level. We do hire exceptionally talented professionals with decades of experience in their field. As such, our range may be higher than what is displayed. Our base salary ranges are determined by experience and location, and we hire at all levels for multiple roles. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills demonstrated during the interviews, working experience, and relevant education or training.
