Position Overview:
SIMBA Chain is looking for a Front-end engineer/senior front-end engineer that is passionate about code and development best practices. A motivated self-starter should have a minimum of 2 years of commercial experience (5 years for seniors) working in teams on a shared codebase with version control, multiple releases in an agile, DevOps, CI/CD environment. At least the last year (2 years for seniors) should have been spent primarily coding in JavaScript with Vue.js, although we will take other framework experience into account.
SIMBA’s engineering practice and team is spread across the globe, with remote work as a standard flexible working hours are also standard practice to accommodate teams in different time zones.
A strong predictor for successwill be evident in a candidate witheexpertise in implementing front-end designs, with a solid technical foundation. This individual collaborates well with other team members and stakeholders on all parts of the stack, enthusiastic about blockchain technology now and beyond the existing landscape.
What you’ll be doing at SIMBA:
- Working with the engineering leads and UX on application user interface design.
- Developing front end web and mobile applications.
- Creating technical documentation and well-commented code for internal and client consumption.
- Working in a scrum team following agile development practices including team standup meetings, peer code reviews and QA testing.
- Mentoring staff with less experience of working with the chosen development frameworks and development practices.
- Working with engineering leads to define and implement best engineering practices
Required Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field
- 3 – 5 years of experience working with commercial, version controlled shared codebases.
- 3– 5 years of experience with the following tools and technologies: JavaScript, Vue.js, REST APIs, React, Flutter.
- Experience with Git and/or Gitlab CI/CD
- Experience with Agile Methodology, Unit Testing, Scrum
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced working environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Cross platform mobile application development such as Flutter
- Experience with Blockchain applications and smart contract APIs and languages such as Solidity
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Passion and enthusiasm for blockchain technologies
