The Role

The a16z Crypto Talent team is one of the most innovative and progressive talent teams in the industry, built on our core values of integrity, network, and innovation. The Talent Partner, Crypto will assess, build, and manage a network of crypto leaders for the benefit of our key customers and partners.

The preferred location for this role is New York City. We will consider remote locations. The role may require in-office presence from time to time.

  • For the Talent Network: Build the Crypto talent network by engaging, assessing, and contributing to this network on behalf of the firm by connecting into our broader ecosystem, career counseling and hosting events. Become the “go-to” for advice and counsel for the Crypto network
  • For the Portfolio: Counsel on executive hiring processes to help build world-class management teams. Accelerate time to hire and improve quality of hire through best practices and leveraging our network
  • For our Search Firm Partners: Continue to partner and grow our relationships with the best search firms in the industry
  • For a16z: Growth/Scale - Continue growing the a16z network and connecting the firm to outstanding industry leaders and potentially identify the next investment opportunity for the firm

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, technology startup experience preferred
  • Experience in hiring / attracting talent for a variety of skill sets, particularly Engineering, Product and Design
  • Domain expertise within crypto strongly preferred; minimally a passion for and interest in the crypto industry is required
  • Experience in assessment, recruitment, and team building is crucial. As well as compensation trends and benchmarking
  • Experience in developing and cultivating relationships with executive level and director level talent and search firms
  • Ability to write and edit high-quality content to share best practices with founders

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $239,000 - $278,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.

This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave. #LI-remote
