bloXroute is seeking an experienced Production Engineer, who will be instrumental in ensuring the highest levels of availability and performance for our application. As the Production Engineer you will focus on continuous monitoring and reliability, collaborating closely with development teams to architect, deploy, and operate our critical production systems. To be successful in this role you will have the experience to work in Linux environments, scripting, and proactive system monitoring that will help the team achieve our mission of delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize monitoring solutions to ensure visibility into application performance and system health
- Utilize Bash/Python scripting to automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks across our production environments
- Respond to and resolve production issues, minimizing impact on customers and ensuring high availability and performance
- Participate in the design and implementation of infrastructure and applications to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency
- Conduct root cause analysis of production incidents and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence
- Collaborate with development teams to advocate for and implement reliability best practices throughout the software development lifecycle
- Manage cloud-based resources and services, leveraging AWS to enhance our application’s scalability and resilience.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a support engineering role, with a proven track record of problem-solving in high-availability environments
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and networking principles
- Proficiency in scripting with Bash and Python
- Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn and share knowledge with others
- Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools
- Experience with cloud services (preferably AWS), including EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
