As a Risk Analyst, you will play a crucial role in transforming our Risk Team with a data-driven approach. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining key risk indicators and the Risk Area's data dashboard. Your insights will be vital in risk assessments, ensuring our strategies are backed by solid data. You'll also contribute to reports and presentations for board members and the risk committee, making your role pivotal in the strategic management of risk at Bitso.

Who You Are

  • Proven English fluency.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Proven experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Statistical Expertise: Strong quantitative background, with proficiency in statistical analysis.
  • Risk Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in Enterprise Risk Management, including creating and managing strategic risk indicators.
  • Research Skills: Robust research capabilities, with the ability to analyze complex data and extract actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Educational Background: BA/BSc in Data Science, Economics, Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or any related subject.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SQL and/or programming languages like R or Python.
  • Risk Management Certifications.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Frameworks such as ISO 31000 or COSO.
  • Experience in the financial or fintech sectors.
  • A Master's Degree or higher in a quantitative field is highly desired.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and manage both quantitative and qualitative Strategic Risk Indicators.
  • Create, maintain, and update the Risk Area’s data dashboard to ensure accurate and real-time insights.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, providing statistical insights and asking critical questions to guide decision-making.
  • Draft and refine reports and presentations for board members and the risk committee, ensuring they are informed by the latest data.
  • Participate in pilots, offering risk-focused insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor ongoing risk exposures and the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of past risk handling and compare potential risks with established company criteria, including costs and legal requirements.
