For more information, visit www.bitgo.com.This role will provide support on commercial agreements relating to BitGo’s custody, trading and staking services primarily in APAC region. Responsibilities:
Negotiating contracts that are core to our regulated digital asset business, including digital asset custody, trading, lending and borrowing agreements, partnership agreements in APAC region. Drafting and negotiating bespoke contracts for first-of-their kind products and services with limited precedent. Drafting terms of use and disclaimers. Working closely and partnering with the sales, product, regulatory, compliance, product development and marketing teams. Helping with due diligence requests related to transactions. Managing legal and regulatory risks in a thoughtful and commercially practicable manner. Helping develop and drive legal contracting process and operations including with respect to workflows, customer contracting lifecycle, pipeline management and document retention. Supporting corporate governance. Escalating issues to senior team members as appropriate. Pitching in whenever and wherever needed, even when not directly related to responsibilities described above.
Requirements:
Law degree from a recognised university in the US/UK/ Singapore/ Hong Kong or any other relevant jurisdiction 4+ years PQE experience in a top-tier law firm with exposure to international legal systems and ways of doing business and/or in-house legal experience at an international financial services or crypto company, ideally involving customer-facing sales, trading and custody. Must have at least 3 years of transactions experience at a law firm. A strong understanding of how key terms are used in contracts, and how they are used to allocate risks associated with a business arrangement. Ability to draft complex legal clauses and manage transactions with sophisticated institutional counterparties and outside law firms. Ability to balance multiple tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to assess and balance legal risks against business interests. Good understanding of blockchain and digital assets. Flexible, “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn Excellent English language and drafting skills. Ability to negotiate in Mandarin is a bonus.
