Your mission:
As a Backend Developer at Bitpanda, you will be responsible for writing, reviewing and maintaining clean and scalable code over all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
About the team
Engagement department builds cross-platform applications which help the user to discover new assets, engage into trading and have an enjoyable journey across assets, prices and portfolio. We are open-minded colleagues with cross tech-stack experience and we aim to make investment easier for our users.
In this solution we have cross-functional E2E teams, based in Vienna and Barcelona, aiming to develop and maintain new features for our Broker application. We have a microservices infrastructure with an event driven architecture. Our microservice are mainly in PHP and we use Kafka and SQS.
What you'll do:
- Develop high-quality features by writing clean code, ensure high test coverage and troubleshoot to eliminate bugs
- Design and develop, resilient and scalable message driven services using PHP as a programming language
- Keep debug-outputs tidy, write comments during development and ensure technical documentation
- Constantly optimise systems to ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Mentoring and coaching developers towards implementing best development practices and contributing to improve the development processes
Who you are
- Excellent skills using PHP (Laravel / Symfony Framework)
- Strong skills with Databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL / NoSQL), including design and optimisation
- Experience with microservice architecture
- Experience with message queuing service architecture (using Kafka, SQS)
- Experience with Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS
