About The Role
The Sei Development Foundation is seeking a highly strategic and operationally adept Strategy Lead to be a direct partner to our executive director. The Strategy Lead is the ED/COO's strategic right hand - a force multiplier who keeps the organization running smoothly, ensures priorities are aligned across teams, and handles the connective tissue work that falls between functions. This is an execution and coordination role, acting as a trusted partner and core team member with broad visibility into strategic priorities, cross-functional execution, and organizational alignment. This role owns process, rhythm, and follow-through, while other leaders own their domains.
This position is based in New York City and requires a strong on-site presence to work closely with the executive team.
Responsibilities
Strategic Execution & ED Support
- Own the ED's agenda: prepare briefings, analyses, pre-read materials, and follow-up actions for key meetings
- Serve as a proxy for the ED in internal meetings and cross-functional discussions when appropriate
- Track and drive completion of ED-level priorities and execute on strategic objectives across the organization
- Act as a multiplier for executive leadership by translating high-level strategy into clear action plans and measurable outcomes
- Draft internal and external communications on behalf of the ED
- Design and maintain operating rhythms, including planning cycles, project trackers, executive updates, and follow-ups that drive accountability
- Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to execution, ensuring coordination across departments and stakeholders
- Identify organizational gaps, process inefficiencies, and risks, then implement solutions proactively
- Ensure decisions made in leadership discussions are documented, communicated, and followed through
- Serve as a central hub for information flow and alignment across teams, ensuring decisions and priorities are communicated clearly and consistently
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Own special projects and time-sensitive initiatives that don't have a clear functional home
- Lead high-impact, high-visibility special projects, operating with autonomy, discretion, and judgment
- Support onboarding of senior hires
- Help maintain team culture and communication norms across a distributed, async-first team
- Professional experience in consulting, operations, strategy, or similar roles in a high growth startup environment
- Experience working closely with C-suite executives, founders, or senior leadership in high-growth environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication; clear, direct, and thoughtful
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and deliver under pressure
- Familiarity with crypto/web3 ecosystems preferred but not required
- Experience working across time zones with globally distributed teams
- Extremely organized, process-oriented, and bias toward action
- Positive, proactive, low-ego collaborator who thrives in startup and scaling environments
- Experience in crypto, blockchain, or Web3 ecosystems
- Background in investment banking or similar detail-focused analytical environments
