About Chainlink
Chainlink is the industry-standard oracle platform bringing the capital markets onchain and powering the majority of decentralized finance (DeFi). The Chainlink stack provides the essential data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy standards needed to power advanced blockchain use cases for institutional tokenized assets, lending, payments, stablecoins, and more. Since inventing decentralized oracle networks, Chainlink has enabled tens of trillions in transaction value and now secures the vast majority of DeFi.
Many of the world’s largest financial services institutions have also adopted Chainlink’s standards and infrastructure, including Swift, Euroclear, Mastercard, Fidelity International, UBS, S&P Dow Jones Indices, FTSE Russell, WisdomTree, ANZ, and top protocols such as Aave, Lido, GMX and many others. Chainlink leverages a novel fee model where offchain and onchain revenue from enterprise adoption is converted to LINK tokens and stored in a strategic Chainlink Reserve. Learn more at chain.link.
Chainlink Labs is seeking a Senior Communications Lead, Media Relations to own the strategy and execution of our most important external announcements across DeFi, banking, capital markets, and institutional adoption.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who has repeatedly secured meaningful coverage around major company, product, partnership, and market-moving news. The ideal candidate has deep relationships across top-tier business, financial, broadcast, crypto, and trade media, and knows how to turn complex infrastructure stories into clear narratives that break through beyond the crypto industry.
You'll work closely with communications, product marketing, business development, legal, ecosystem, and executive stakeholders to plan, package, pitch, and execute announcements end to end. The role suits a proactive, journalist-connected, fast-moving operator who is comfortable in a remote-first, globally distributed environment where major news moments demand urgency, judgment, and ownership.
Your Impact
Lead media strategy and execution for Chainlink's major announcements across DeFi, banking, capital markets, tokenized assets, stablecoins, interoperability, data, and compliance
Translate complex technical, institutional, and market-infrastructure developments into clear narratives for mainstream business, financial, crypto, and trade audiences
Secure high-quality earned coverage across top-tier business, financial, broadcast, crypto, fintech, and institutional trade publications
Build and maintain strong personal relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and bookers across financial services, technology, crypto, and capital markets
Identify the right targets for each announcement; mainstream business outlets, financial television, crypto-native publications, trade media, podcasts, newsletters, and industry analysts
Own the full announcement process: strategy, press materials, targeted pitching, embargo management, spokesperson prep, interview coordination, coverage tracking, and post-launch reporting
Prepare executives and spokespeople for interviews, briefings, broadcast appearances, podcasts, conference media, and sensitive conversations
Write and refine press releases, pitches, messaging documents, Q&As, briefing materials, talking points, reactive statements, and reporter backgrounders
Monitor market, media, policy, and Web3 narratives to find timely openings for Chainlink to enter or shape the broader conversation
Partner cross-functionally with product, business development, ecosystem, legal, policy, marketing, social, and content teams to keep all external communications accurate and strategically aligned
Requirements
At least 7+ years of communications, PR, or media relations experience, ideally across crypto, fintech, financial services, capital markets, enterprise technology, or high-growth tech
Proven track record securing coverage for major company, product, partnership, funding, institutional, or ecosystem announcements
Strong existing relationships with top-tier business, financial, broadcast, crypto, fintech, and trade media; including journalists, editors, producers, and bookers
Demonstrated ability to turn complex or technical topics into simple, compelling narratives for mainstream and professional financial audiences
Strong understanding of the Web3 industry, including DeFi, tokenization, stablecoins, blockchain infrastructure, crypto markets, and institutional adoption
Excellent writing and editing across press releases, pitches, messaging documents, Q&As, briefing materials, and executive talking points
Highly organized and execution-oriented, able to manage multiple announcements, stakeholders, and timelines at once
Comfortable working directly with senior executives and preparing them for high-stakes media moments
Experience working in-house, at an agency, or across both
Able to thrive in a remote-first environment where major announcements don't always fit a traditional 9-to-5
Preferred Requirements
New York City; based or able to be regularly present in New York for executive media engagements, broadcast interviews, reporter meetings, and financial industry events
Existing relationships with producers, bookers, and reporters at top financial broadcast outlets
Experience supporting communications for banking, capital markets, tokenization, stablecoin, payments, or financial-infrastructure announcements
Experience managing media relations for both crypto-native and mainstream business audiences
Agency management experience; setting expectations, coordinating execution, and holding partners accountable to measurable outcomes
Experience supporting executives at conferences, in broadcast studios, on podcasts, and in live media environments
