About Us:

We are contributing to a groundbreaking Layer 1 blockchain project to redefine the Web3 space.  This is not just another Layer 1 or Layer 2 that will get lost in the mix, and the pieces have been put in place to execute and launch innovatively.  This role is for proven and experienced leaders with direct experience within a Foundation or Labs supporting an L1 or L2 (or adjacent), and firsthand knowledge of what makes these protocols successful.

Role Overview:  We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader. This individual will profoundly impact and shape the protocol's future and the broader blockchain ecosystem.  As our COO, you'll be the right hand to our CEO and the whole business, turning visionary concepts into reality. You'll oversee and execute daily operations and drive strategic growth.

Your mission: Ensure our business not only runs smoothly but also scales and attracts top-tier partners and developers.

About Our Team and Your Role

We’re a well-rounded team: half of us are tech whizzes, while the other half excel in building partnerships with data providers, developers, and the DeFi community. Communication is key to our network-driven approach.

Remote Work: Our team is spread across the globe, from the US and South America to Europe and Asia, with an optional office in Porto, Portugal. Remote work is the norm here.

Language Proficiency: English proficiency is essential as it’s our primary communication language.

Startup Vibe: We thrive in the dynamic DeFi space and love adaptable problem solvers who are eager to meet evolving market needs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: Define, Establish, and Manage daily operations efficiently, implement scalable growth processes, and coordinate cross-team goals. Identify and onboard key operational third-party relationships, incl. banking, custody, accounting, and legal. Establish the ability to recruit and employ a growing team, define entity requirements, etc.

  • Strategic Planning: Work with the CEO on strategic vision, identify growth opportunities and new markets with the team, and adapt strategies based on industry trends and feedback.

  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting and financial planning, optimize resource allocation and fundraising operations, manage daily company operations for efficiency and effectiveness, and coordinate cross-departmental budget management to meet company goals. Assist in project fundraising as required.

  • Regulatory:  Navigate regulatory and compliance challenges in the blockchain industry.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior operational role, preferably within the blockchain, finance, trading or tech industry.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Deep understanding of the Web3 landscape and blockchain technology, preferably SVM.

  • Experience working with decentralized stakeholders in Open Source Software environments and/or blockchain-decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs)

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
