About the role

Location: We are a fully remote team, and although we hire globally, there is a preference for this role to be based in Europe, Uruguay or remote +/- 3 hours UTC time

Position: Full-time contractor

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, Accounting Manager to help us build the next generation of decentralised finance operations for a market leading DeFi project.

As an Accounting Manager, you will take ownership of managing outsourced accounting service providers and manage and coordinate with the Finance Lead the reporting and operations of CoW DAO and related legal entities. You will work on ensuring reporting is accurate and timely, while supporting the overall Operations team on ensuring our team has the tools and resources to perform at their best and the overall CoW DAO ecosystem and structural dependent flows. Your goal will be to ensure that internal policies are followed while giving support to team members when needed

What you will do

• You are responsible for running day-to-day accounting operations supported by external accountants

• You will facilitate the submission of the annual financial accounts /statements

• You will review local teams’ with the tax reporting (draft CIT, return, WHT, VAT returns)

• Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Management (national and international payment transactions and cash management)

• Maintain accounts and balances by verifying, allocating, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies

• Cooperate in tax audits and liaise with tax authorities

• Drafting accounting policies for crypto transactions (and accounting for digital asset transactions)

• Review blockchain transactions and support the internal teams on crypto operations

• Support the Finance Leadership in brainstorming and operationalising new operational structure (flow of funds, multisigs, etc) in current and new networks

• Assist and engage with the external asset management (Karpatkey) in operations in CoW DAO treasury

• Support the Planning and Budgeting process and mid range plans together with the Finance Lead, as well as, support on preparing internal and external reporting.

Tools you will be working with

• Accounting ledgers: Xero, TOC Online, and others

• Crypto subledger: Cryptio

• Other software: Spendesk, Travelperk, Drivetrain. RequestNetwork, Revolut Business

Who you are

• You have 4+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably, with crypto related experience

• You have experience in one of these accounting industries: UK, Uruguay, Cayman Islands, or BVI

• Mandatory: You have excellent Google Sheets skills

• You have a degree in Accounting or Finance or similar certificate

• You have good knowledge of IFRS and are capable to adapt your accounting knowledge to several different GAAPs

• You are interested in blockchain technology and ideally already have hands-on crypto experience (you might know appropriate tooling such as Cryptio or Request Network)

• You have experience in working with tax authorities and external auditors/accounting firms

• You have excellent organizational and management skills with an ability to think proactively

• You pay attention to details and deliver accurate work while multitasking and manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing work

• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills

• You have strong interpersonal skills

• You have an excellent command of English

Bonus points if you:

• Experience in web3 (ideally DeFi and Ethereum / EVM blockchain)

• Experience with multisigs (ideally Safe{wallet}) and nested setups

• Experience with Rabby wallet
