Our open position is perfect for those who have a passion for responsibility and initiative, and who are constantly looking for new challenges.

Who we are

We’re Wirex, and we’re not like anyone else. Why? Because we always do things our way, before anyone else does them – like creating the first ever debit card that lets you pay with crypto, making it easier for ordinary people to access DeFi-powered savings and setting up the world’s first cryptocurrency rewards scheme.
Our vision is a world in which everyone can enjoy the benefits of digital currency – everything from the power to send money around the world near-instantly without breaking the bank to buying, storing and exchanging 130+ top tokens on a secure, easy-to-use platform at some of the best rates in the industry.
We must be doing something right, because more than 5.5 million people across 130 countries are helping to change the world by using Wirex.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with stakeholders to define the product vision and strategy. Ensure that every feature and functionality aligns with Wirex’s broader business goals and delivers maximum value to our users.
  • Take ownership of the product backlog, prioritizing features and tasks based on business value, technical feasibility, and user needs. Ensure the development team has a clear, well-defined backlog that drives efficient and effective product delivery.
  • Collaborate with development teams to convert product requirements into technical specifications. Use your technical expertise to make informed decisions about architecture, design, and implementation, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
  • Collect, define, and translate business and product objectives into clear technical requirements. Break these down into actionable tasks, prioritize them in the backlog, and distribute them to the development team. Ensure that requirements are detailed, understandable, and supported through to production.
  • Analyze product performance and user feedback to inform ongoing improvements. Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and optimization, keeping Wirex’s products at the cutting edge of fintech.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in creating and launching products, particularly web and mobile applications within the financial domain, retail banking solutions, budgeting apps, payment products, or wallets is a significant plus.
  • Deep understanding of APIs, software architecture, and mobile/web development practices. Demonstrated ability to guide a product from ideation to market launch, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
  • Proficiency in creating clear, detailed technical documentation, including user stories, workflows, and system diagrams (UML, BPMN).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges and devise effective solutions that align with both business and user goals.
  • Understanding of UI/UX principles with the ability to work closely with design teams to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces. Knowledge of how design impacts user engagement and overall product success.

Getting a job in the DeFi (decentralized finance) industry can be a competitive process, but there are a few steps you can take to increase your chances of finding a job in this field:

  1. Build up your skills and knowledge: To work in DeFi, you'll likely need to have a strong understanding of blockchain technology, as well as other related technologies such as smart contracts and cryptocurrency. Consider taking online courses or earning a degree in a relevant field to build up your skills and knowledge.
  2. Network with industry professionals: Attend meetups and conferences related to DeFi and make connections with professionals in the industry. Networking can be a valuable way to learn about job openings and get your foot in the door at a DeFi company.
  3. Create a strong online presence: Many DeFi companies will look at your online presence (such as your LinkedIn profile and personal website) when considering you for a job. Make sure to showcase your skills and accomplishments online and keep your profile up to date.
