Breakwater Strategy, a boutique strategic communications and insights agency, is seeking a professional with a strong understanding of the blockchain and digital asset space to develop and execute innovative communications strategies for our growing portfolio of crypto and Web3 clients.
The ideal candidate will have experience communicating the value propositions and navigating the regulatory landscape for projects including institutional crypto platforms, major retail exchanges, high-profile crypto leaders, and real-world blockchain applications.
Candidates with 5-8 years of strategic communications experience, a deep familiarity with the crypto ecosystem, and an ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling narratives are best-suited for this role. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who can bring fresh perspectives to communicating the transformative potential of this space.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop strategic messaging and thought leadership content to establish clients as industry leaders and advocates
- Craft executive talking points, quotable soundbites, and proactive media pitches that break through the noise
- Collaborate with account teams to manage day-to-day client deliverables and communications
- Translate emerging technical trends in crypto into digestible and ownable POVs
- Advise clients on regulatory positioning and policy communications in a fast-evolving landscape
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to account growth in the blockchain vertical
ATTRIBUTES
- Deep passion for and understanding of crypto, DeFi, NFTs, and Web3 technologies and communities
- 5-8 years agency, in-house or political comms experience; crypto/fintech background strongly preferred
- Exceptional writing skills with ability to distill complex topics into relatable, compelling content
- Strong grasp of the crypto media and influencer landscape and relationships a plus
- Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while juggling competing deadlines and priorities
- Highly collaborative team player who can lead junior staff and liaise effectively with senior leadership
