About the Role:
The Open Source Analyst will report to the Open Source Team Lead, who reports to the FIU Manager. The Open Source Analyst assists with various assignments supporting the Compliance Program of the Company.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct rigorous open source research (“OSINT”) and investigations of both a proactive and reactive nature in support of Crypto.com’s Financial Crimes Center;
- Utilize various systems and technologies, including blockchain analytics tools, in furtherance of investigations;
- Synthesize data derived from multiple sources to produce comprehensive analyses;
- Present findings in written reports/analyses and oral presentations;
- Stay abreast of industry developments and cryptocurrency-related news, both domestic and foreign;
- Collaborate with other teams across the FIU and Financial Crimes Center;
- Provide training and support to other analysts;
- Maintain proficiency in all aspects of BSA/AML compliance; and
- Attend BSA training as assigned by the Compliance Officer.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Exceptional OSINT skills, with at least three years of experience;
- Demonstrable investigative mindset and general curiosity;
- Resourcefulness;
- Interest in solving complex problems;
- Well-developed analytical skills;
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills;
- Nuanced understanding of blockchain technology and the broader industry/ecosystem;
- Working knowledge of BSA/AML regulations.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Relevant certifications or coursework;
- Previous experience conducting corporate due diligence;
- Proficiency in a foreign language is highly desirable.
