Role Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive person to help drive forward our ambitious growth plans throughout 2022 and beyond. You will be part of our winning team and will bring a ‘can-do’ attitude to help assist our legal department. We are seeking someone passionate and motivated to grow with us as an organisation, and strike a key balance between legal reviewing and drafting with commercial efficiency.

As our business expands, we are looking to grow a dedicated team that can contribute to our legal, risk and compliance landscape, anticipating and effectively responding to commercial needs that may arise. The ideal candidate shall have experience dealing with legal documents with proficiency, excellent organisation skills and receptiveness to adapt within their role and assume responsibilities. A keen interest in disruptive technology and its intersection with legal regulation would be a bonus.

The role will be based in the UK, however our flexible work from home mode of operating allows our team to work virtually from anywhere in the world. You will report to our Head of Risks and Compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepares and processes a variety of correspondence and legal paperwork. Ensure a high level of accuracy.
• Undertakes other compliance related due diligence checks.
• Review contracts, summarize legal risks and propose recommended amendments.
• Exercises caution and discretion with personnel and legal-related confidential information.
• Conducting research in legal matters, relevant laws and regulations.
• Assist with Legal & Compliance projects such as trademark registration, KYC/AML record keeping, company restructuring, etc.
• Organize and maintain documents in electronic filing systems.
• Supporting the businesses’ GDPR implementation and compliance recommendations in accordance with policies and procedures.

Must have skills and attributes

• Post-Secondary education and minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an paralegal, legal assistant/secretary capacity
• Exceptional organizational skills
• An independent and self-motivated individual with a strong prioritization mindset committed to meeting deadlines and getting things done
• Strong writing skills and strong understanding of legal terminology and documentation
• Excellent attention to detail in reviewing and drafting skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to conduct independent research and present proposals/recommendations
• A strong willingness to help the team to the best of your ability
• Strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels within the organization

Nice to Haves:

• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Pro.
• Familiarity with Slack or other related software systems.
• Eagerness to learn more about cutting edge tech development in areas of DeFi, NFTs, DAOs and Web 3.0.
