If so, then we should talk… Nortal’s Global Product and Experience (GPX) team is searching for a Head of Product Design to lead a global team of product designers who deliver a range of design and innovation services for clients across Europe, the Middle East, and North America. 

This is an exciting time to join the GPX team, with a number of new client projects giving the opportunity to create products and services which will influence the lives of millions of customers and employees. The team is becoming known across Nortal as the centre of excellence for design best practices and thought leadership.

What you will be doing?

    • Reporting to Nortal’s Global Chief Product Officer, you’ll be part of Nortal’s Global Product and Experience Leadership team.
    • Work with Product and Experience leaders in Nortal markets to develop priority accounts and identify and respond to new opportunities.
    • Create and own Product Design related value propositions for clients, for example, Design Systems, Accessibility Design, Web3 Design, and Employee Experience Design.
    • Lead Nortal’s Global Product Design team, coaching and guiding individuals, and inspiring them with your passion for the craft of UI, IxD, and UX.
    • Work with other capability leaders across the business e.g. Service Design, UI development, software engineering, data to define, and encourage the use of best practice methods and tools.
    • Lead by example by delivering client work for particularly business-critical or complex engagements (up to 50% of the time).
    • Manage the performance of the Global Product Design team including tracking new opportunities, chargeability, and hiring.

What we are looking for?

    • Design team leadership and evidence of growing a team and developing individuals.
    • Passion for product design and understanding of the latest thinking and trends.
    • Professional services experience – you understand how consultancies, agencies, and software delivery companies operate.
    • Experience leading design-related sales conversations with clients.
    • Experience with user research and continuous discovery processes.
    • Range of industry experience (e.g. government, healthcare, retail, engineering, and manufacturing)
    • Excellent business English.

Nice to have:

    • ‘Client side’ product design experience – with start-ups, scale-ups, or established businesses.
    • Value proposition and thought leadership creation experience – ideally demonstrating where this work has directly led to sales.
    • Entrepreneurial experience – a passion for spotting opportunities and plotting the path to growth.
    • Ability and willingness to present / speak at industry events.
    • Other language skills (German is particularly valuable).
