Senior DevOps engineer
Plai Labs is searching for the best and brightest Software Engineers to work on a new central technology platform that will support a number of our newest social products, powered by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. We’re looking for a smart, experienced DevOps Engineer who thrives in an agile environment.
Our right fit is someone who enjoys solving problems, has experience setting up and managing Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), cares about scalability, interacts effectively in a team environment, and takes ownership and pride in the work that they do.
The Plai Labs team is stacked with serial entrepreneurs, who’ve launched/built/sold multiple billion dollar companies. We are a solid, hard working, driven team of technologists.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with product leadership, product designers and backend engineers to build and release on schedule.
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure on GCP to support development, testing, and production environments.
- Independently develop and maintain Kubernetes clusters and related tools such as Helm, Istio, and Prometheus. Must be able to execute this end-to-end.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes and related infrastructure issues.
- Work with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab.Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions for infrastructure and software applications.
- Automate infrastructure deployment and management tasks using Terraform or other automation tools.
- Implement security best practices in infrastructure and software development processes.
- Work with stakeholders to define and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Continuously improve infrastructure and software deployment processes, and identify opportunities to automate and optimize.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience setting up and managing Kubernetes on GCP.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or other languages.
- Experience with automation tools such as Terraform.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack is a plus.
