Job Description
Elwood is seeking to appoint a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Engineering team based in London where you will provide testing solutions for Elwood’s OEMS and PMS platform.
The role is primarily based out of the London office and will require working closely with the Engineering, Global Delivery, Product and Sales Teams. The individual will need to be flexible in their approach and able to react quickly to changing business needs.
Responsibilities
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of new products and features
- Directly contribute to the development of automated unit, regression and performance tests
- Implement an automated test structure in the CI/CD pipeline
- Collaborating with project and release management teams to implement the programme
- Develop and execute effective test strategies and analyse results
- Document testing phases and defects
- Report bugs and issues to development teams and manage defects through to successful resolution
- Contribute to the success of the broader client release management process
- Collaborate closely with other key stakeholders, including Product and Engineering
- Proactively create and drive impactful changes across support workflows, policies, and tools
- Expertise in creating customer support documentation for Elwood customers
Qualifications / Knowledge
- Strong knowledge and background in financial trading systems and software
- Proven experience as a hands on SDET/Software Engineer with a strong focus on testing
- Hands on experience of structured programming languages (C#/Java/Golang)
- Experience with CI/CD and integrating automated testing (ideally within a cloud environment)
- Good knowledge of databases - querying and producing test data (SQL/Redis)
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker)
- Automation of API testing
- Good understanding of full system development life cycle
- Experience leading a team
- Able to create new processes and streamline current practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Crypto (desirable)
- Desirable knowledge of tech stacks: JS/TS React, Golang, PostgreSQL, Cloud (Google Cloud) infrastructure, Docker, Terraform
