Technical Product Manager - Payment Cards Infrastructure

This position is 100% remote, based in Mexico, and will report to the Director of Product - Infrastructure

As the Product Manager (Cards Infrastructure) you will...

  • Develop and maintain the strategy, vision, roadmap, and execution for the cards infrastructure product suite, , focusing on technical integrations, security, scalability, settlement, authorization, and other key components
  • Design and implement card processing systems, including authorization, clearing, settlement, fraud detection, and chargeback management processes, to ensure seamless and secure transactions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and sales, to define product requirements, technical specifications, and priorities related to card infrastructure components
  • Partner with card networks (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) and payment processors to ensure compliance with network rules, regulations, and certifications, as well as to identify opportunities for improving processing efficiency and reducing costs
  • Optimize card infrastructure performance by analyzing transaction data, monitoring system health, and identifying areas for improvement in authorization and settlement processes
  • Design robust and scalable APIs for seamless integration with internal systems, third-party providers, and partners
  • Develop and track key performance metrics to measure product success and drive improvements
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and guidelines for card infrastructure systems and processes, ensuring that internal teams and external partners have the necessary information to efficiently develop and integrate solutions
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform product strategy, including innovations in payment processing, data security, and card infrastructure components
  • Manage and prioritize product backlog, ensuring timely delivery of features, enhancements, and technical improvements related to card infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and technical vendors, working together to identify new opportunities and drive innovation in the payment cards infrastructure space

Who You Are

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years focused on the technical aspects of payment cards infrastructure, including authorization, settlement, clearing, and fraud detection systems
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of payment processing, card networks (e.g., Visa, Mastercard), payment gateways, APIs, and related technologies
  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing card infrastructure systems, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions
  • Proficient in relevant programming languages, tools, and software, such as Python, Java, SQL, RESTful APIs, and payment processing SDKs
  • Knowledge of key industry standards and regulations, including PCI DSS and PSD2, and experience in ensuring compliance across card infrastructure components
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, and Scrum, as well as familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions, conduct root cause analysis, and develop effective solutions to complex technical challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes, and to apply this knowledge to inform product strategy and drive innovation
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Fluent in Spanish and English required
