We’re Hiring: Software Engineer Intern, Backend

Talos operates at the intersection of crypto and capital markets. We build high-performance reactive systems from scratch and deliver solutions quickly to keep pace with the unique challenges of the changing digital assets space. As a Backend Software Engineer Intern, you’ll work with the team as we develop Talos’s backend trading and settlement platform.

The team is made up of engineers that know building great systems takes time, and we spend the time to ensure the safety, security and performance of our platform. We value strong communication skills and the ability to get things done in a collaborative environment. Traditional markets trading systems experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Leverage your proficiency in programming languages such as Golang, Python, C++, etc., to actively contribute to the development and maintenance of backend systems
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of backend engineering principles and practices to enhance the performance and reliability of infrastructure.
  • Work with the product team to deliver solutions that support the full trade lifecycle
  • Be part of an open and transparent culture as we grow the team

Qualifications

  • Class of 2025 pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Previous backend software engineering experience (applicable coursework, projects, internships, etc.)
  • Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design, etc.)
  • Experience in a backend programming language (eg. Golang, Java, Python or C++)
  • Experience with version control systems (eg. Git)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An energetic, creative, and autonomous self-starter

In New York City, the hourly compensation is $50.
