We are looking for a Director of Global Communications to join our Marketing department. Your role will be to manage and execute all strategic communications for the NEAR foundation and layer-1 blockchain ecosystem, as well as high-priority global partners and entities. You will be a critical member of the marketing team, working closely with the Global Head of Brand Strategy and Partnerships.

You will

• Strategically design and manage the communication framework and press strategy, including overseeing announcements from across in the NEAR ecosystem;
• Drive announcements from conception to drafting to pitching and execution to ensure maximum media coverage;
• Develop relationships with and pitching media across a variety of mainstream and industry outlets; elevate the project’s relationship with key financial and business media and influential voices at national and international levels
• Create communication materials, including talking points, press releases, media pitches, speeches.
• Collaborate with Content Editorial arm to create thought leadership pieces/op eds for the NEAR foundation community page and website.
• Maximize earned and social media opportunities by thinking creatively and considering every potential angle and media channel. No pitch is too small to you.

You Have

• Demonstrated global communications experience
• Demonstrated skills and comfort in proactively building relationships with reporters
• Strategic thinker with the ability to create effective and integrated multi-channel communications strategies
• A track record of success proactively crafting and placing compelling media pitches
• Proactive, organized planner with the ability to multitask and prioritize numerous work streams
• Successful writing and editing experience, including the ability to write press releases, media alerts and website content
• Creative ideas about how new media channels can be utilized to achieve specific communications goals
• The ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment, are results oriented and self reliant
• Great oral and interpersonal skills and all around interesting, dynamic person who loves a challenging environment
• 8+ years of experience in a communications leadership role

About the NEAR Foundation

The NEAR Foundation is a nonprofit, non-beneficiary foundation based in Switzerland which supports community-driven innovation and the Open Web with a specific focus on the NEAR platform. The Foundation distributes grant funding into the NEAR ecosystem, coordinates governance among participants, educates people about the protocol and ensures that relationships among the community members are as strong and sustainable as the apps they build. It seeks to combine the inclusive care of a community-driven NGO with the at-scale effectiveness of a Silicon Valley startup.
