At Improbable, we believe that the next revolution in entertainment and society will come from massive virtual worlds. They will create new economies and opportunities globally, changing not just how we play, but how we work and relate to each other. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to build the next generation of technologies for online multi-user games and simulations.

At Improbable, you are surrounded by people who want to improve everything and everyone around them, and who compel you to improve yourself. We’re motivated by the fulfilment of solving hard problems to achieve something profound and transformative.

Venture Builder

Improbable is a Venture Builder. We are working with leaders to create businesses in AI transformation, the metaverse and web3. We both create businesses from scratch and invest in existing businesses.

We are now looking for a highly capable and hands-on Treasury Manager to build and scale our treasury function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly evolving business where both traditional fiat and digital asset treasury operations are increasingly critical.

Your Mission

You will build a reliable and scalable treasury function that gives Improbable full visibility and control over its fiat and digital asset positions. Within the first year, the Treasury Manager will have established clear policies and processes, ensured institutional-grade custody and risk management for digital assets, and implemented effective liquidity, FX, and hedging frameworks. Treasury operations will run smoothly and transparently, enabling better capital allocation, proactive risk management, and confident support of both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives across the business and our web3 ecosystem.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lay the foundation for Improbable’s treasury function by developing core policies, controls, and an operating framework that ensures strong governance across fiat and digital assets

  • Oversee liquidity and uphold runway targets through effective forecasting across Improbable and its ventures, ensuring coverage for both operational and strategic needs

  • Lead investment and capital allocation, optimising surplus fiat and digital asset deployment, assessing options and informing treasury-driven planning and decision-making

  • Provide oversight of digital asset positions and maintain exposure and risk in line with strategy

  • Manage USD/GBP exposure and design appropriate hedging strategies

  • Develop and execute crypto risk-management and hedging approaches for relevant digital assets

  • Own relationships with banks, custodians, and digital asset providers, and lead the selection and implementation of treasury tools that improve visibility and automation

  • Produce timely treasury reporting for senior leadership, including liquidity positions, exposures, counterparty risk, and investment performance

  • Contribute to broader financial strategy and operational excellence

Why You’re Made For This

  • You bring 5+ years of experience in Treasury, Treasury Risk, or similar roles, ideally gained in fast-growing, multi-currency or digital-asset-exposed environments

  • You have a solid understanding of both fiat and digital assets, covering liquidity management, FX considerations, and operational risks

  • You demonstrate expertise in developing policies, processes, and systems from scratch, establishing high-performing operational environments

  • You are confident in executing and reporting on capital deployment, yield, and risk metrics

  • A dynamic self-starter with a proactive solutions first approach to challenges

  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building structure in a rapidly evolving environment.

  • Strong communicator who can translate complex treasury concepts for non-specialists.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in crypto-native treasury, FX hedging, or DeFi asset management.

  • A relevant professional qualification (ACT or equivalent) is desirable
