As the Member of Compliance team for Singapore, you will be a part of the broader compliance team maintaining and enhancing the KYC, on-boarding, and other pillars of Compliance program. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality of the onboarding process is met and we give smooth client experience during the on-boarding journey, which is key in the Anchorage Digital’s AML and Sanctions Compliance Framework. You will be an expert with deep understanding and knowledge of MAS, as well as the Anchorage group level policy requirements focusing on client onboardings/periodic refresh, CDD/EDD, CIP/IDV processes, sanctions screening and deposit attribution processes, and is able to apply those requirements to support business development and manage risks appropriately for the Company.

As a compliance team member, you will maintain the AML/CFT policy including updating and maintaining other policies including KYC Policy, Correspondent banking onboarding policy etc. You will work with the Singapore Compliance Lead to help define the long-term strategy of Singapore’s Compliance team and how the APAC regulated and unregulated businesses can support the parent’s target operating model. You are recognized as a reliable member who can apply expertise to have significant influence for APAC compliance needs.

Technical Skills:

    • Able to draft and update KYC policies, procedures and guidelines
    • Able to provide training and advice to stakeholders on potential KYC policy and procedures.
    • Able to prioritize demanding workflows, detailed-oriented and well organized in the KYC reviews
    • Manage KYC compliance reviews to meet the business priorities including taking active lead in driving client onboarding/periodic refresh meetings
    • Able to review sanctions related alerts and deposit attribution information and action appropriately

Complexity and Impact of Work:

    • Update and maintain scalable KYC/Onboarding policies and procedures to align with Singapore requirements based on the parent entity and/or Anchorage Digital Bank policies and procedures.
    • Provide KYC advisory support on onboarding related queries from the business, KYC Operations team and Client Experience team
    • Review adverse media alerts, Customer risk ratings, PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) alerts, customer exception requests, and PEP declassification requests and provide advice to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
    • Assist the ADS Compliance Lead in providing compliance support and advice from all perspectives to the local business and stakeholders

Organizational Knowledge:

    • Understands U.S. BSA/AML regulations and MAS requirements for institutional and corporate clients.
    • Influences the Compliance and Tech roadmap for implementing necessary controls
    • Monitors the development of the company objectives and new product innovation to ensure compliance has a seat at the table
    • Ensures that knowledge is shared amongst the Compliance teams and does not position themselves or others as a single point of failure

Communication and Influence

    • Timely escalates onboarding related risks related to KYC onboarding processes, client risks, internal process lapses etc to MLRO/Compliance Lead
    • Identifies bottlenecks in the onboarding process and discusses with the Compliance Lead on possible solutions to manage such bottlenecks.
    • Uses compelling arguments to convey insights, recommendations, conclusions and ideas on how to improve the team (e.g. process, technical backlog, etc.)
    • Consistently expresses clear, thoughtful, analytical and solution-oriented communications, whether in high-impact slides/decks, written communications in slack or email, or verbal communications.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

    • Deep understanding of MAS requirements for crypto companies which have the Major Payment Institutions license and service institutional clients
    • Strong knowledge of overall AML/CFT Compliance program
