DESCRIPTION: The Software Engineer IV-Cloud is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Software Engineer IV-Cloud will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of our software solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated software engineer to contribute to the success of our projects and grow within our organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that meets our customers' needs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Engage closely with product managers and cross-functional team members to deeply comprehend project requirements and specifications, fostering a strategic alignment with organizational goals.
  • Demonstrate mastery in designing, developing, meticulously testing, and maintaining software solutions, adhering rigorously to best practices and coding standards, ensuring unparalleled quality and reliability.
  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure, including serverless architectures, container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud-native databases and other managed services.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize platform health, stability, and scalability.
  • Exhibit commitment to crafting clean, efficient, and meticulously documented code that serves as a benchmark of technical excellence and attention to detail.
  • Lead code reviews, offering insightful feedback to team members to elevate code quality, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Work as an embedded engineer within a Product Development Team, acting as a liaison for the core Platform Engineering team
  • Display agility and expertise in debugging and promptly resolving software defects and issues, ensuring uninterrupted operational flow and superior user experience.
  • Maintain high level of awareness as it pertains to emerging technologies and industry trends, leveraging this knowledge to continually enhance your skill set and inform critical technology decisions.
  • Spearhead initiatives to enhance our cloud architecture and scaling capabilities, playing a pivotal role in optimizing infrastructure performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with developers and operations teams to ensure the cloud platform meets their needs and adheres to security best practices.
  • Drive innovation by actively contributing to the refinement of software development processes and methodologies, amplifying efficiency and efficacy across the development lifecycle.
  • Foster effective communication channels with team members and stakeholders, delivering timely project updates with precision and professionalism.
  • Assume a leadership role in imparting architectural and cloud expertise to mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Champion the cause of software reliability by spearheading the creation of robust test suites encompassing mocking unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end testing, ensuring the resilience and quality of our software products.

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 12+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in at least two programming language (C++, Java, JavaScript, GoLang, Rust, Solidity, Kotlin)
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, serverless computing).
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
  • Passion for software development and a desire to grow as a software engineer.

Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with and passion for the crypto industry
  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Familiarity with domain-specific knowledge such as financial systems, healthcare regulations, e-commerce platforms.
  • Proficiency with development tools, frameworks, and libraries such as specific IDEs, version control systems (e.g., Git), testing frameworks, and deployment tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database design principles is often preferred.
  • Highly proficient in AWS cloud concepts, including deployment to cloud and Infrastructure as Code. Proficient in ECS, EC2, Fargate, EKS, Kubernetes and Terraform.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects or personal GitHub repositories.
  • Prior experience working in a startup environment, with an understanding of the fast-paced and dynamic nature of startups.
  • Motivated to develop solutions that do not reinvent existing tech stacks or processes.

The salary range for this role is $115,000-$170,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This range only includes base compensation and does not include other tangible benefits such as 401K match, bonuses, overtime pay, and other benefits.

Please note that employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
