The Opportunity
We seek an experienced and dynamic Head of Legal (Commercial) to join our team in Hong Kong. This senior role will oversee all commercial legal matters and provide strategic legal guidance to support Auros' continued growth and success in the cryptocurrency industry.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage the legal function for the Commercial team, providing expert legal advice to facilitate deals.
- Manage the work of 1-2 junior lawyers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements and partnerships.
- Develop and implement smooth legal processes that support Auros' business objectives and reduce friction.
- Collaborate closely with the executive team to provide legal input on business decisions and support growth initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards in the cryptocurrency and financial services sectors.
- Liaise with customer legal teams as necessary to support timely and compliant deals.
- Develop and maintain effective legal processes and policies across the organisation.
You will have:
- A law degree from a recognised university and been admitted to practice law in Hong Kong.
- Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience, and ideally you will have gained some experience within the Crypto industry.
- Ideally you will have experience with crypto commercial deal structures, and experience gained on the sell side will be highly regarded.
- Excellent people management skills, including the ability to motivate, mentor and develop legal team members.
- Strong knowledge of commercial law, contract law and the regulatory frameworks relevant to cryptocurrency.
- Flexibility to occasionally work non-standard hours to provide coverage for the Northern Hemisphere team.
- A self-starter mentality, with a genuine desire to own projects from start to finish and deliver positive outcomes to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage complex legal issues and provide practical, business-focused solutions.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.
