A major in Econometrics, Finance (or a related major, such as Accounting), is best suited for tying this internship to an academic program.
The intern will gain valuable experience by:
- Working across business lines to collect, organize, and analyze financial and operational data to support corporate development initiatives and assist with transaction management, including due diligence, and management of professional service providers.
- Support review of internal processes to help assess efficiency of operations; compare internal costs to external service providers and weigh benefits of internal development vs outsourcing
- Support the preparation and review of financial policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Help compile materials for external audits and support communications with auditors.
- Conduct research on vendors and assist with cost benchmarking for fee negotiations.
- Aid in tracking and maintaining internal controls and compliance documentation.
- Help prepare budgets and forecasts with guidance from senior finance leaders.
- Participate in treasury-related tasks such as tracking fund transfers and cash flow reports.
- Support the creation of finance department goals and metrics dashboards.
