About The Role
We are seeking a Head of Capital Markets to architect the company’s forward-looking capital strategy. In this leadership role, you’d be responsible for developing and executing on New Order’s capital raising strategy, finding the best investor fit for New Order’s venture arm. The Head of Capital Markets will grow a strategy and team focused on the fundraising optimization, structure, pricing, and go-to-market approach across various potential investor segments. We’re looking for a candidate who brings a career in capital markets, a network of blockchain and crypto investors, and extensive investor facing experience.
Successful candidates demonstrate 10+ years of successful capital markets and investor relations experience with proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships within the industry and private capital investors. Candidates will have existing relationships with private investors, preferably in the crypto and blockchain industry, and experience developing and implementing private capital strategies. Candidates will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or Master’s degree in Finance preferred.
Your Responsibilities
- Initiate, build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective investors; identify, expand and deepen relationships with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, fund of funds, endowments and foundations in crypto/blockchain space.
- Lead all aspects of our venture arm fundraising strategy. Lead the structuring and execution of capital raising transactions across multiple investor types.
- Be proactive in your business development approach by outbound outreach, conducting prospect meetings and through successful sourcing of new capital.
- Exceed aggressive capital raising goals through demonstrated work ethic and tenacity required to achieve top performance
- Identify potential investors and develop proper points of contact, both direct and indirect, in order to develop direct relationships for capital raising for New Order venture arm.
- Understand the investment objectives and priorities of potential investors and articulate the strategy, objectives and performance of the company’s investments
- Participate in investment, valuation and risk management processes.
- Prepare timely analysis and responses to questions raised by investors.
- Maintain working knowledge and understanding of current industry trends and market terms.
- Participate in strategic planning with senior management to set financial goals, as well as the company’s strategic agenda.
- Assist deal sourcing and deal structures for early stage venture development
- Assist senior principals of the firm with strategic decisions and business initiatives associated with fundraising, marketing and investor relations.
The Education And Experience We’re Looking For
- Has a bachelors or higher degree in a relevant major. MBA is a plus
- Has 10+ years of venture capital raising with a successful track record of raising equity from private sources. Preferably you have worked for placement agents, investment banking, investment sales brokerage firms, or other capital intermediaries.
- Established credibility and strong reputation amongst individual investors and related intermediaries;
- Experience in working in blockchain and crypto related industries
- Knowledge about DeFi and Web3 a big plus
- Demonstrated career history of loyalty and tenure with continued growth and success in roles of increased complexity and responsibility
- Demonstrated judgement and adaptability, intellectually sharp, decisive and agile, able to thrive in a collaborative team environment and culture
- Entrepreneurial by nature and passionate about building a business; highest level of integrity and character
- Creative, resourceful and driven, an intelligent risk taker who does not grow complacent with success
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Has the ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information and translate into strategic deliverables.
- Has excellent analytical and financial analysis skills
- Willing to travel as needed (could be as high as 50%)
