About the AI & Biometrics Team:
The AI & Biometrics team is building a biometric iris recognition system that can work reliably with more than a billion users and enables them to claim their free share of WLD. We use cutting-edge machine learning deployed on custom hardware to enable high-quality image acquisition, identification, and fraud prevention, all while requiring minimal user interaction. Our technology, coupled with privacy-preserving data collection, allows us to increase system performance and reduce model bias.
About the Opportunity:
Our ML models - especially the identifier models - require large high-quality datasets. This role is responsible for both, collecting and annotating these datasets. This comprises organizing large scale data collection events all over the world in cooperation with our growth team as well external data providers. It also includes managing our in-house labeling team and providing the necessary tooling. Additionally this role is responsible for engaging with external labeling services and building the necessary connectors with our data infrastructure.
In this role you will:
- Manage and grow our in-house labeling team to ensure constant data inbound.
- Create custom tooling for our labeling team to guarantee high data quality.
- Engage with external labeling services and build the necessary connectors to increase the annotation throughput.
- Monitor and manage large scale data collection in the field in cooperation with other teams (e.g. legal and growth).
- Monitor the quality of our datasets and make sure they are unbiased and well distributed across various demographics, ethnicities, etc.
About You:
- Have industry experience as a Data Engineer, SW Engineer or Data Scientist.
- Talented in organizing projects with various stakeholders.
- Able to lead a team of annotators and data collectors.
- Able to build and adapt our custom frontend for our in-house labeling team.
- Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Experience with tools for monitoring such as Datadog or Grafana.
