Senior accountant
We are currently looking for an accountant willing to join our rapidly growing startup in Austin. Required Skills
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- CPA desired but not required
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
- Able to set up QuickBooks Online and integrate systems such as Expensify / JustWorks
- Highly proficient in Excel
- Desire someone who understands cryptocurrency and is comfortable managing crypto-assets
- Ability to work independently (remote), be flexible and keep deadlines
- Flexibility to work within a startup environment and assist with various business functions when needed
Expected Roles & Tasks
- Manage payroll process
- Prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations following established policies and procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Take ownership of all assigned month-end close processes and responsibilities and ensure their accurate and timely completion
- Oversee and monitor spending across several accounts
- Generate quarterly financial reports
- Generate purchase orders
- Perform any account payable / receivables
- Generate employment offers and contracts
- Budget management and reviews for all departments
- Handle coordination and management with tax accounting firm
- Direct and coordinate treasury and cash management
- Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls
