Position Details We work on strategic projects within Rakuten Group, focusing especially on those of critical importance to senior executives. Collaborating closely with business units, we provide the necessary support to solve key issues and help drive executive decision-making. For each project, we form a dedicated project team, assigning members based on their background, skills, and preferences. We aim to develop talent who can grow rapidly by engaging with a wide range of industries and themes and become valuable contributors within Rakuten Group.

Examples of Tasks:- Growth and turnaround strategies for various businesses- Operational optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives- Business due diligence and valuation- Strategic partnership planning and negotiation support- Support for new business development- Macroeconomic research and modeling

Examples of Themes:- AI- Fintech- Sports Business- Web3/ Cryptocurrency- Satellites and Space Technologies- Drones/ Autonomous Delivery Robots

Work Environment: Most of our team members are in their 20s to mid-30s.

Many of our mid-career hires come from consulting firms or have experience in corporate strategy/business development roles. Some members have backgrounds in government or financial institutions. Among our mid-career hires, some build long-term careers within the department, while others move on to take strategic roles in various business units.There are also members who take the lead in launching new businesses and go on to manage them over the medium to long term, playing a central role in driving their growth.

Mandatory Qualifications:- Logical thinking- Communication skills - Business level English and Japanese

Desired Qualifications: - Project Management skills - Strategic Planning skills - At least 2-3 years of experience in a consulting firm  - At least 2-3 years of experience in policy planning at a government office
