BitGo is currently looking to hire a Legal Counsel for BitGo Deutschland in Germany. This is a great opportunity for mid level financial services professionals to take on a crucial role within business operations at a rapidly growing cryptocurrency firm. This role will report to the Managing Director and will ideally be located out of the Frankfurt Area.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with and advise management, providing guidance and practical solutions related to crypto custody and other services if implemented
• Analyze new business initiatives and new products / services from a legal perspective, as required
• Support all legal matters, including legal / regulatory advice, contract drafting / review, and handling crypto custody complaints
• Proactively monitor and ensure compliance with national and international regulatory requirements while promoting compliance culture and awareness within the organization
• Conduct research and monitor the latest developments in laws and regulations related to blockchain, digital assets, and other matters relevant to the company's business
• Assist with regulatory license applications in various relevant jurisdictions
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to provide commercially tailored advice.
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2+ years of in-depth experience either in a law firm or in-house in a banking or finance environment - your previous role was either legal or a compliance function.
• Have in-depth experience coupled with excellent degrees (at least satisfactory state exams) and an outstanding legal career; in-house experience is welcome.
• Have business fluent written and spoken English and German language skills.
• Have an innovative approach to legal issues in favor of strategic business goals combined with a passion for delivering excellent client service.
