The Role
Layer3 is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager with extensive experience in Web3 and on-chain accounting to lead and manage all aspects of our accounting operations. This is a full-time role where you will take ownership of bookkeeping, monthly closings, financial reporting, audits, and compliance under US GAAP. You will work closely with senior leadership, growth, business development, and product teams to ensure financial accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage on-chain and off-chain accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, monthly closings, management reporting, and revenue and cost accounting.
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of financial statements under US GAAP, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement robust processes for accounting across various B2B and B2C revenue streams.
- Collaborate with the business development team on invoicing and collections processes.
- Produce audited financials (monthly and annual) and handle tax filings for investors and stakeholders.
- Utilize on-chain accounting tools to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.
- Partner with product teams to address data dependencies for accounting purposes, ensuring seamless integration with financial systems.
- Manage audits and lead the preparation of financial documentation for compliance and investor reporting.
Who You Are
- CPA certification is required.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on Web3, blockchain, or crypto ecosystems.
- Proven expertise in on-chain accounting and experience with on-chain accounting tools.
- Proficient in US GAAP and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in designing and implementing processes for accounting multiple revenue streams (B2B and B2C).
- Strong understanding of preparing financial statements, leading audits, and managing tax filings.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, growth, business development, and product teams.
- High EQ and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working remotely and thriving in high-autonomy roles.
