Who are we?
Phi Labs is a software development company, initially spun out of Tendermint with the launch of the Archway protocol, a Cosmos-based layer 1 blockchain designed to reward dapp developers.
At our core, we are a software engineering company focused on the Cosmos SDK and CosmWasm, state-of-the-art frameworks for blockchain development. Now expanding to SUI, Solona, and other ecosystems. Over the last year we have been grooming a defi product and now looking to expand our team for a bleeding-edge defi product.
How we work
We have team members working worldwide, from the Americas, Europe to the Middle East and Asia. We are very adaptive and agile with the team workflow to stay focused and address challenges of remote and strongly distributed team. Communication is vital to us, and we rely heavily on Slack, Google Workspace, Linear, Notion, and GitHub to help us stay in sync. Most of the technology we build is free and open source.
This role is a full-time remote position, and you’re free to work from anywhere. Be advised that most team meetings occur between 6:30 am and 10:00 am Pacific Time (UTC-8/-7). About the Role
You will play an integral part of the engineering team, building and maintaining a new defi product - Bolt Liquidity.
Phi Labs is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Software Engineer (Rust) to join our engineering team. As the newest member of the team, you won't just be working on the “ordinary” – you'll be at the helm of pioneering web3 Defi solutions on top of one of many blockchains! We’re pushing the boundaries of what's possible and your contribution will be integral and influential.

What you will need
Strong proficiency with Rust and NodeJS for backend development
Strong proficiency with Rust with good understanding of async, performance and good API design
Proven track record of building e2e Rust applications
Proficient with git
Be a self-starter and able to work cross-functionally and independently as needed
Strong written and verbal English communication
Nice to have skills
Familiarity with the Cosmos, SUI, and/or Solana ecosystems
Understanding of financial technology and decentralized systems
Experience in web3, decentralized finance (DeFi) decentralized applications (dapps) and blockchain principles
Experience with continuous integration pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Travis)
ProtoBuf, gRPC
Open source development experience
Highly organized with great attention to detail
Strong DegenScore
Bonus: Has written smart contracts in Rust or Solidity (Rust preferred, however a Solidity position will be opened shortly.)
