We are seeking an IT Engineer to join our IT & Security team to play a key role in improving and scaling our IT operations, tools and process with a heavy emphasis on automation. You’ll bring technical depth and hands-on experience to help us manage and evolve everything from identity and access to endpoint management and internal tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support & Services

    • Support day-to-day IT operations, including end-user support and assisting across hardware, software, and employee lifecycle requests.

    • Refine our support tooling, documentation, and feedback loops.

    • Triage and resolve endpoint, access, and SaaS issues while designing processes to minimise future issues.

    • Managing on-site hardware and video conferencing equipment.

  • Endpoint Management

    • Manage the lifecycle of Mac endpoints using Kandji, Crowdstrike, Kolide and asset management systems.

    • Improve management of Linux endpoints (currently 10% of our overall fleet).

    • Enforce baseline security policies, configuration standards, and compliance monitoring.

  • Identity & Access Management

    • Administer Okta including group design, lifecycle policies, and app integrations.

    • Automate joiner/mover/leaver workflows, SCIM provisioning, and role-based access controls.

    • Partner with security, engineering and infrastructure teams to implement least privilege, MFA, and audibility across services.

  • SaaS Engineering

    • Operate the technical management and integration of core SaaS platforms like Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, GitHub, and 1Password.

    • Continuously assess and enhance user engagement across tools, operational efficiency, and security posture throughout the tech stack.

  • AI & Automation

    • Identify and eliminate repetitive tasks through scripting, APIs, and low-code automation tools such as Zapier.

    • Assist in building small tools, bots, or dashboards integrating LLM tools securely to streamline onboarding, access requests and reporting.

Requirements

  • Experience with Okta, Google Workspace, and Mac endpoint management

  • Basic scripting and automation experience such as Python, Bash, APIs, Zapier, or similar

  • Detail-oriented with strong process documentation and change-management savvy

  • A builder’s mindset (creating repeatable, self-service, or AI-enhanced processes)

  • Familiarity with IAM best practices (least privilege, group-based access, audit logging)

  • Excellent communicator and collaborator in English with technical and non-technical team members

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in a fast-growing startup

  • Practical experience administering and supporting Linux endpoints

  • Exposure to cloud access patterns (GCP, AWS)

  • Experience using Kandji and Crowdstrike

  • Interest in Web3, blockchain, cryptocurrency and smart contracts - check our Tech Blog [https://www.kiln.fi/blog] and Open-Source Contribution [https://www.kiln.fi/open-source]

How do I get a job at DeFi?

Getting a job in the DeFi (decentralized finance) industry can be a competitive process, but there are a few steps you can take to increase your chances of finding a job in this field:

  1. Build up your skills and knowledge: To work in DeFi, you'll likely need to have a strong understanding of blockchain technology, as well as other related technologies such as smart contracts and cryptocurrency. Consider taking online courses or earning a degree in a relevant field to build up your skills and knowledge.
  2. Network with industry professionals: Attend meetups and conferences related to DeFi and make connections with professionals in the industry. Networking can be a valuable way to learn about job openings and get your foot in the door at a DeFi company.
  3. Create a strong online presence: Many DeFi companies will look at your online presence (such as your LinkedIn profile and personal website) when considering you for a job. Make sure to showcase your skills and accomplishments online and keep your profile up to date.
  4. Apply for relevant job openings: Keep an eye out for job openings at DeFi companies and apply for positions that align with your skills and experience. Apply for DeFi Jobs without Experience. Tailor your resume and cover letter to the specific job you're applying for and highlight any relevant experience or skills you have.
  5. Consider internships or volunteer work: DeFi Internships or volunteer work can be a great way to get your foot in the door and gain valuable experience in the DeFi industry. Many companies also offer internships to students, so consider applying for an internship if you're still in school.
  6. Be persistent: keep trying if you don't get a job right away. It can take time to find the right opportunity, but with the right skills and determination, you can land a job in the DeFi industry.
