We are seeking a dynamic subject-matter expert to help curate the Web3 Gaming, Virtual Economy, and Immersive World stage sessions at Consensus 2024. They will co-lead and lead the content programming and speaker selection for Gaming & Immersive Worlds sessions, with an emphasis on exploring the intersection of blockchain and Gaming.

This summit will take you on a deep dive into the realm of blockchain-based gaming, augmented and fully immersive sensorial experiences while discussing the future of human-computer interaction
About the Role
Note: This is a contract position with estimated project end date of June 14, 2024. We are open to candidates located in New York, Austin, or other remote locations in US Eastern Standard, Central, or Pacific Standard Time Zones.
The Gaming & Immersive Worlds Events Programming Lead will help steer and nurture Consensus’s vital relationships with various key Gaming and Metaverse stakeholders, companies, and those moving the needle or about to. involve guiding the programming about and by these different constituencies, on various stages and events within Consensus, where speakers will showcase, discuss, and debate different innovations, strategies, and predictions. There is also an opportunity to form an advisory committee that helps bring fresh ideas to Consensus and ensures it is covering the leading tech developments.
The Gaming & Immersive Worlds Events Programming Lead will work closely with the rest of the Consensus event operations and programming teams to help set the wider Consensus agenda, with an emphasis on bringing the best Gaming executives, artists, academics, and thought leaders to the Event, the Main Stage and elsewhere in the program. They will attend regular programming meetings, where they will discuss and suggest speakers, topics, and formats for all sessions. As with their colleagues, they will be expected to conduct speaker outreach to secure talent for the agenda.
The role reports to the Executive Editor for Events Programming but will continue to take guidance and assignments from the Chief Content Officer and the Managing Director of Consensus.
Responsibilities
- Guide the overall development of the Gaming vertical for CoinDesk and Consensus
- Develop target lists of speakers, topics, pairings, companies & media within the relevant verticals
- Reach out to potential speakers and companies, and lead discussions to secure their commitment to speak at Consensus.
- Attend weekly Programming meetings to provide updates and receive feedback on ideas
- Be well-versed and connected with the Gaming space
- Create session titles and descriptions, liaise with speakers on session timing and support materials, help identify moderators to lead conversations
About You
- You have 2+ years of experience in content creation or event programming
- You are highly collaborative, communicate effectively, tech-savvy, and possess superb organizational skills
- Capable of building strong relationships and leveraging your subject matter expertise within the category
- Proven success in owning and managing projects
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and creatively problem-solve under deadlines and in a live-event environment
- Previous work experience or a strong interest in cryptocurrencies, web3, and blockchain technologies is a plus
- Comfortable with multiple technology and data management systems: event platforms, Airtable, Excel, Google Drive, etc
- Comfortable working in and excited by the challenges of a fast-paced, start-up culture
