As a Game Designer focused on Live Events and Economy Balance, you will own the design and optimization of event mechanics, progression systems, and reward structures that drive Engagement and Retention.
You will operate at the intersection of F2P system design, live data analytics, and player psychology â ensuring that event performance, economy health, and long-term LTV are strategically aligned.
This is a high-ownership role requiring strong communication with leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate live KPIs into structured design decisions.
â      Design event mechanics, progression systems, and reward structures that increase Engagement and Retention
â      Continuously tune difficulty, rewards, and Expected Value (EV) using live data
â      Optimize event KPIs such as participation rate, completion rate, and replay loops across player segments
â      Maintain healthy Source/Sink balance and manage long-term economic impact
â      Collaborate with stakeholders to drive structured improvements through A/B testing and documentation
â      Design and balance mechanics that strengthen player flow, engagement, and retention
â      Lead post-launch tuning cycles, including hypothesis design, parameter adjustments, measurement, and iteration
â      Analyze win rates, EV, retention deltas, and gameplay curves to optimize long-term economy balance
â      Define and maintain structured difficulty tiers (e.g., Normal / Hard / Boss / Event)
â      Work closely with Data Analysts to evaluate completion rates, retries, booster usage, and monetization correlations
â      Partner with UX, Art, and Engineering to optimize player communication and feedback loops
â Â Â Â Â Â Document tuning frameworks and economic design methodologies for cross-team alignment
â      Proven development and live-operations experience in F2P Puzzle and/or Merge genres, with deep understanding of gameplay mechanics
â      Ability to communicate with ownership and confidently engage with executive leadership (including CEO-level discussions)
â      Capable of building Unity mock-ups independently and communicating ideas grounded in implementation feasibility
â      Strong interest in game design, level design, player psychology, and data science
Core Skills:
â      F2P System Design Expertise
Ability to integrate difficulty, progression flow, and economy (rewards/monetization) within Puzzle/Merge genres, and clearly articulate their impact on Retention and Monetization (including LTV)
â      Data-Driven Iteration Cycle Management
Ability to derive actionable strategies from win rates, EV, retention deltas, and live KPIs; rapidly execute hypothesis â implementation â measurement â learning cycles
â      Specification & Alignment Communication
Skilled in structuring PRDs, mock-ups, and data specs; clearly communicating intent, expected impact, and risks across Engineering, Art, QA, Analytics, and LiveOps teams
â      Production Planning & Optimization
Ability to estimate level production capacity and effort, and propose productivity improvements including AI and automation
â      Deep understanding of how difficulty curves, flow design, and economic systems impact retention and monetization
â      Strong analytical ability to interpret quantitative data (win/loss rates, ARPDAU, EV, retention deltas) and translate insights into design actions
â      Experience with capacity planning in casual genres, including AI-assisted production workflows
â      Comfortable iterating quickly based on live KPIs and player feedback
â      Ability to thrive in Agile environments
â      Strong cross-functional communication skills
â      Experience in hybrid-casual genres
â      Modeling and simulation capabilities for economy, retention, and revenue forecasting
â      Expertise in economic circulation design (Source/Sink balance, reward pacing, inflation control)
â      Quantitative balancing skills using Expected Value modeling, difficulty curves, and win-rate data
â      Experience with economy simulation, retention modeling, and monetization design
â      Hands-on experience with live balancing tools and experimental infrastructure
