We are looking for a Head of People to help us grow our team and nurture our amazing team members. We’re a startup of ~45 full-time team members, distributed across 15 countries.

This role focuses on building, developing, and retaining a great team. You will help us design and develop processes to support employees do their best work. You will also manage HR operations and initiatives to onboard, support, develop, and retain our teammates. You will work closely with the leadership team, as well as internal and external recruiters.

You are a problem solver with strong attention to detail, an ownership mindset, excellent networking skills, great at partnering with leadership and third parties, and you have a prowess for building and supporting strong and diverse teams.

Roles & responsibilities

• Help build and nurture a top-tier and diverse team and positive work environment
• Work closely with our recruiting team to make sure we are bringing in people who can thrive at Horizon
• Implement HR strategies aligned with business strategy and values, with a focus on retention
• Work alongside the leadership team to develop tools, processes, and policies for recruitment, people management, employee well-being, employee experience, and company branding

Skills & experience

• 5+ years in people operations, HR, or recruiting
• A track record for building and nurturing strong and diverse teams and work environments
• Deep understanding of HR practices
• Awareness of the importance of compliance requirements as well as labour and employment law, working closely with our in-house and external counsel
• Experience building and leading training workshops
• Ownership mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment
• Excellent communication skills
