About This Role

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. The assigned duties may include accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciling customer and vendor accounts, balance sheet accounts and intercompany transactions for multiple operating entities. This role will be involved in both corporate and project accounting and will report to the Head of Strategy & Finance and Head of People.

What You’ll Do

• Enter accounting related information and transactions using QuickBooks.
• Processing high volume employee expense reimbursement and reconciling corporate card charges.
• Accurate and timely month-end close and financial reporting for FP&A and management.
• Managing vendor relationships with our external accountants, tax firm, and relevant regulatory authorities.
• Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Review transaction coding and financial statements for accuracy, legal compliance and alignment to budgeted expense coding.
• Recommend ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Ad hoc financial support and analysis as requested by internal and external stakeholders.
• Adding changes to payroll like stipends, bonuses, commission, allowance, salaries, and reimbursements.
• Managing and processing payrolls for our entities.
• Verifying and approving invoices (payroll, reimbursements, fees) to ensure changes are applied and correct, and communicating with our partners in case of discrepancies.
• Working closely with the people team and the finance department, so they understand the current status of payments.
• Prepare payroll files, summaries, and documents.
• Answering employee questions about payroll.

What You’ll Need

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: A minimum of two years professional accounting experience is required.
• Skills and Mindset: Focuses on tasks; thoroughly completes each task before moving on; is careful with attention to detail to ensure accurate keying, coding and entry; treats operations staff as customers with a service mindset
