DESCRIPTION:

The Systems Administrator is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the Director of Network Operations, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
  • Responsible for network administration, configuration, monitoring and planning
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and application performance


ABOUT YOU:

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
  • Scripting knowledge in Bash, Python and other languages
  • Public Cloud experience in AWS, Azure, GCP, Digital Ocean
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux are a plus
  • Experience working with Debian based Linux distributions and open-source software
  • Understanding of containers, including Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of systems/networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Knowledge of automation tools including Ansible, Ansible Tower and API calls a plus
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
