Your Role: Director, Engineering

Overview: Interested in joining a fast-growing Series B startup looking to change the crypto payments industry. We are a well-funded startup looking to hire an Director, Engineering, reporting into the CTO. The company has just over 50 employees and was recently valued at over $1Bn in its most recent round raised in summer 2021. We are growing quickly and looking to hire a Director, who can help manage and grow our engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Build and manage product pillar(s) of the MobileCoin organization composed of multiple engineering teams
• Maintain a close partnership with senior engineering leadership, product, and design to develop the strategy, vision, and roadmap for your segment of the business
• Coordinate the engineering managers and oversee the quality of the projects and deliverables
• Own and drive the success of complex efforts into production
• Provide expertise on technical and architectural decisions and implementation across the business
• Oversee the policies and processes in your organization to deliver consistent wins

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• 15 years of experience working in the tech industry
• Bachelors or advanced degree in CS, EE or other STEM majors, or equivalent experience
• Led multiple teams and managers within a high-growth organization
• Experience shipping scalable and reliable customer-facing products
• Delivered products used by millions of people
• Experience building and maintaining a culture of technical excellence, meritocracy, and accountability across large teams
• Deep knowledge of Rust, modern C++, C or other systems language
• Experience authoring and porting cryptographically-sensitive code
• Experience with distributed systems and network protocols
• Hands-on mentality, attention to detail, and keen interest in security, reliability, and scale
• Ability to create well-documented code and communicate effectively on technical subjects
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong familiarity with crypto ecosystems and are a thought leader in the evolution of consumer-facing crypto products
• Experience leading organizations across multiple time zones and in a remote environment

Location: The office is based out of San Francisco, but remote candidates will be considered.
