Remote in Canada

About the teamThe Product Design team is composed of several teams that work together to help define, create, and deliver all user-facing aspects of the Stripe brand and product. Product Designers are strategic partners to Engineering and Product Management within a dedicated product area. In partnership with the product team, they help define the user-facing experiences our users encounter on Stripe products, then translate that thinking into a complete experience that can be tested, shipped, and refined. They are responsible for creating well-functioning and beautiful products and experiences that users love and are eager to recommend to others.

The Crypto Onramp is Stripe’s site-embeddable product which allows users to make it easy for their customers to purchase crypto with fiat currency directly in their checkout flows. Stripe's Crypto Onramp product allows consumers to purchase cryptocurrencies directly within merchants' websites via an embedded widget. Consumers are able to securely verify their identity and are enrolled in Link to enable a one-click checkout experience for future purchases.

What you’ll doIn this role, you’ll be embedded with the Crypto team and work closely with engineers and product managers to define both the long-term strategy and the short-term tactics for our growing product suite.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Crypto designer, you’d be working to determine how best to leverage Link and the Stripe brand to help people get started with crypto, feel safer, and enable a greater sense of trust. Additionally, you would directly impact shaping the experience for merchants to purchase crypto through Stripe and to increase crypto adoption across the merchant and consumer landscape.

Some of the areas you would work on:

• Fiat-to-crypto onramp, which allows developers to integrate onramp in to their apps and sites to make buying crypto easier • Crypto payouts, which allows creators and businesses around the world to be paid out in crypto • Future crypto products at Stripe — It’s early and we’re building the next generation of financial tools for web3 developers and existing web2 merchants from the ground up

Who you areWe’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements• Has at least 3+ years relevant design experience at a product-driven tech company • Has experience collaborating closely with engineering teams • Has strong craft demonstrated through a portfolio of work

Preferred qualifications• Experience designing for a fintech product • Experience designing global experiences • Ability to reduce complex problems down to the right balance of flexibility, power, and ease of use • Skilled in explaining your work, process, and decisions to cross-functional stakeholders and crave feedback to help you produce your best work • Comfortable presenting work to senior stakeholders regularly • Strong independence and an ability to advocate for a larger design vision with cross-functional stakeholders  • Is uncompromisingly service-minded towards our users and your colleagues, but able to set and achieve priorities that find the perfect balance between benefiting the project, the Design team, and all of Stripe

Hybrid work at Stripe

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is C$120,500 - C$226,300. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
