In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development of cutting-edge payments infrastructure and APIs on top of the Aptos blockchain. You will hire and manage a high-performing team of engineers, collaborate closely with product and business leaders, and help define the future of decentralized payments. This is a highly technical, hands-on leadership role. We’re looking for someone who combines deep expertise in building payments systems with a strong product sense and a passion for Web3 innovation. What You'll Be Doing:
Lead the design, development, and scaling of payment solutions on the Aptos blockchain Build and manage a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning Partner with Product, BD, and other cross-functional teams to define the roadmap and deliver high-impact solutions Define architecture, set technical direction, and ensure high code quality, reliability, and security standards Drive execution and delivery, balancing short-term wins with long-term innovation Stay current on the evolving Web3 and payments landscape, identifying opportunities for Aptos to lead and differentiate
What We're Looking For:
10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 4+ years managing engineering teams Proven experience designing and building production-grade payments systems or fintech infrastructure Strong technical background in backend systems, APIs, and distributed systems Deep understanding of payment rails (e.g., ACH, wire, card networks, crypto) and global fintech ecosystemsExperience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills Passion for solving complex problems and building systems from the ground up Strong product mindset and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution Experience building decentralized, blockchain solutions in fintech or payments Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Experience working with L1 or L2 blockchain platforms Familiarity with smart contract platforms and Move (or similar languages) Prior experience scaling engineering organizations from early-stage to maturity
The base salary range for this full-time position is $215k - $285k. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and typical maximum target for new hire salaries for the position of a candidate based in the Bay Area at any level. We do hire exceptionally talented professionals with decades of experience in their field. As such, our range may be higher than what is displayed. Our base salary ranges are determined by experience and location, and we hire at all levels for multiple roles. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills demonstrated during the interviews, working experience, and relevant education or training.
