OP Labs PBC, formerly known as Optimism PBC, is bringing Web2 usability to Web3 apps. Built by Ethereum developers, for Ethereum developers, OP Labs is the only secure decentralized blockchain infrastructure specifically intended to optimize and scale Ethereum. OP Labs develops open-source codebase software and operates optimistic L2 rollups to ensure Ethereum maintains the three central properties of blockchain: decentralization, security, and scalability.

OP Labs can be seen as an extension of Ethereum, from its philosophy down to its tech stack. They promote the growth and sustainability of public goods, through Retroactive Public Goods Funding, never to be captured by private commercial interests. They aim to make transacting on Ethereum affordable and accessible to everyone.

Role and Responsibilities

As the Partner Operations Lead at Optimism, you will drive high-impact strategic initiatives that shape both our company trajectory and Go-to-Market roadmap. You’ll work across the organization to define key priorities, synthesize internal and external insights, and build the operational frameworks that enable us to scale with clarity and discipline. This is a cross-functional, high-ownership role suited for someone who thrives in ambiguity and is energized by solving hard problems.

What are the role responsibilities?

  • Be the “right hand person” to our chief growth officer in shaping and executing our GTM strategy

  • Own end-to-end delivery of hard, ambiguous strategic projects with rigor and independence – from problem definition to final recommendation

  • Develop a deep understanding of our peer and competitor positioning as well as the emerging crypto landscape

  • Partner with the Data team to define key metrics and targets, and further embed feedback loops between metrics and downstream actions

  • Help drive quarterly and annual planning efforts, collaborating closely with cross-functional leaders and the Exec team

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and founders

What skills do you bring?

  • 8-10+ years of experience in a business strategy / operations role across consulting and high-growth tech companies

  • Strong business modeling skills (Excel / Google Sheets); SQL or Python a plus, but not required

  • Excellent communicator, both written (e.g., memos, decks) and verbal, with an executive presence

  • Strong project management—you’re organized, responsive, and can push multiple workstreams forward in parallel

  • Collaborative and low-ego, with a track record of influencing cross-functional partners and senior leadership

  • Web3 curiosity or experience—you’re either fluent in crypto or eager to get fluent fast

What will you like about us?

  • We take care of our employees. Competitive compensation, fully paid medical, dental, and vision, and a 4% 401K match—learn more about our benefits, culture, and all recruiting FAQ here.

  • We take pride in the accomplishments of our teammates and support each other in doing the best work of our careers.

  • Our team is a diverse group of people from varied backgrounds. We cherish our eclecticism and consider it a great strength.

  • We’re fully remote, deeply engaged, highly skilled, and like to have fun.

  • We think long-term. Our founders have been scaling Ethereum since 2015.
