We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Developer Relations Engineer to join Cookbook, an open-source smart contract registry. As a Developer Relations Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with developers and helping them onboard into Cookbook's ecosystem. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the growth and success of a leading platform.

Cookbook is a one-stop solution for blockchain developers, providing a comprehensive library of solidity primitives, libraries, and smart contracts for protocols across EVM-compatible blockchains. Our platform integrates with various blockchain-native developer tooling, allowing developers to easily search, open, and work with contract code in their preferred development environments. By eliminating the need to dig through Github repositories and handle package managers and dependencies, Cookbook saves developers time and hassle.

The Role:

As a Developer Relations Engineer, you will play a key role in helping developers leverage Cookbook's resources effectively. You will collaborate closely with the developer relations team to enhance the onboarding process and ensure developers have a seamless experience. Your responsibilities will include organizing workshops and webinars, creating documentation, participating in developer forums, and providing technical support for developers using Cookbook's library. Additionally, you will help identify and address any pain points developers may have, working towards continuous improvement and optimizing the developer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with developers to ensure their success and satisfaction with Cookbook's platform
  • Collaborate with the developer relations team to enhance the onboarding process and improve the overall developer experience
  • Organize and conduct workshops, webinars, and other educational events to help developers learn about Cookbook's offerings
  • Create clear and comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and guides to assist developers in using Cookbook's library effectively
  • Create relevant content (in the form of blogs, newsletters, videos, etc.), take feedback from the community to the company, help develop the community, be visible in different forums and channels (for example, Reddit, Stack Overflow, and Discord), and identify priorities when it comes to improving or tweaking a product
  • Participate actively in developer forums and communities, engaging with developers to address their questions and concerns
  • Provide technical support to developers, assisting them with troubleshooting and resolving any issues they encounter
  • Gather feedback from developers and relay it to the internal teams, contributing to the improvement of Cookbook's features and functionality

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, or a similar role within the software industry
  • Strong understanding of blockchain technology and solidity programming language
  • Familiarity with Ethereum and other EVM-compatible blockchains including prior DApp Development exposures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with developers effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and conduct educational events, workshops, or webinars
  • Proficient in writing clear and comprehensive technical documentation
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Passion for the developer community and the ability to empathize with developers' pain points
  • Experience providing technical support to developers is a plus
  • Knowledge of other programming languages and experience in open-source software development is a plus
  • Understanding of decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols and applications is a plus

How do I get a job at DeFi?

Getting a job in the DeFi (decentralized finance) industry can be a competitive process, but there are a few steps you can take to increase your chances of finding a job in this field:

  1. Build up your skills and knowledge: To work in DeFi, you'll likely need to have a strong understanding of blockchain technology, as well as other related technologies such as smart contracts and cryptocurrency. Consider taking online courses or earning a degree in a relevant field to build up your skills and knowledge.
  2. Network with industry professionals: Attend meetups and conferences related to DeFi and make connections with professionals in the industry. Networking can be a valuable way to learn about job openings and get your foot in the door at a DeFi company.
  3. Create a strong online presence: Many DeFi companies will look at your online presence (such as your LinkedIn profile and personal website) when considering you for a job. Make sure to showcase your skills and accomplishments online and keep your profile up to date.
  4. Apply for relevant job openings: Keep an eye out for job openings at DeFi companies and apply for positions that align with your skills and experience. Apply for DeFi Jobs without Experience. Tailor your resume and cover letter to the specific job you're applying for and highlight any relevant experience or skills you have.
  5. Consider internships or volunteer work: DeFi Internships or volunteer work can be a great way to get your foot in the door and gain valuable experience in the DeFi industry. Many companies also offer internships to students, so consider applying for an internship if you're still in school.
  6. Be persistent: keep trying if you don't get a job right away. It can take time to find the right opportunity, but with the right skills and determination, you can land a job in the DeFi industry.
